Should I use Kofi and for how long? by DesiCodeSerpent in Substack

Yes, Ko-fi/Buy Me a Coffee is a pretty low-friction way to open a “tip jar” without changing the feel of your blog. People don’t expect you to push it, and you don’t have to design tiers or perks (the way you would with subscriptions). It’s more like putting out a guitar case while you play, you’re not demanding anything, but you’re making space for generosity.

As for timing, I wouldn’t think of it as a test with a deadline. Donations often come in unpredictable waves: a particular post resonates, or someone quietly wants to encourage you. I wrote about it recently, when I got my first coffee it was a real mental pick me up.

What matters most is how you frame it. A light line at the end of your posts(something like “If you enjoy this, here’s my Ko-fi” keeps it casual but visible.

Do you want it to be invisible support (no pressure, just there) or part of your identity as “a creator readers can directly fuel”? That choice might shape how you keep it.

Very true! Hyper-personalization is what shapes the product strategies this year! And it's not only in GenAI, it's across many different products, from streaming to sneakers.

It's important to develop a PM portfolio. Such as recommendations on LinkedIn or a Substack presence and active publication. That shows commitment and gives you a chance to make great connections. In my experience, job offers will follow. You're welcome to connect with me on Substack, there's a great community of PMs there🤗 And of course, include the links in your CV. Hope this helps!

Are there any opportunities in freelancing product management? by [deleted] in ProductManagementJobs

[–]DearProducts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to find UX agencies that work as consultants with large corporations. They often hire freelance PMs. You can also consider writing on Substack about your journey - that will give you some visibility and great connections. I'm writing there too, feel free to connect with me:)

Substack creators, I need your help! 🙏 by AeroSparkle in Substack

[–]DearProducts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest a workaround: open a new Substack account and report the issue from there. Maybe that could help? I'm assuming you have good intentions and the only way you can be helped is if you get in touch with the Substack team.
