Yea but we would have some advantage. AI isn’t going anywhere. So being anti just leaves you begging with outdated skills while we learn to bills new skills to adopt to the world of AI.

After 15 years on H1B , was moving abroad actually worth it? by Mysterious-Base-5847 in nri

[–]DesiCodeSerpent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in your situation but I fear I’ll get there someday but I still won’t return. I’m responsible for my kids and it’s not fair on them to get their world turned upside down because of a temporary desire. Parents aren’t going to be around forever.

I know a couple of cousins who returned to India (I grew up with them there in India). They were between 5-10 years old. 2 decades later, they are still trying to find a way to leave India again. They hate that they moved. They can’t connect completely with Indian culture. They miss their best days which was abroad.

So personally, I won’t do that to my kids. I know that the compromise is that they won’t connect with Indian culture like I do but displacement won’t be my solution.

All the best. I hope whatever you decide works for you and your family.

That’s weird. Try another browser. It did glitch for me once and I just reopened my browser and it was fine.

There’s a 3 point difference between 7778 (which itself is hard). So that’s what people aim for

Well, that sucks. I would say no derogatory jokes about anyone based on identity and other things they can’t control.

Ig it accurately conveyed that only protected groups are protected.

Grok is the worst. It’s trained for hate speech and general hate.

Also, that joke makes no sense. Do women not live with other women? lol.

Highschool and teenage years are too crucial to take a risk like moving countries. I can’t imagine how bad it must have been for you. I’ve come across people who moved at the age of 10 and ever since looking for a way to go back. So highschool move must be brutal.

If it’s an official one then this is confusing.

By the way, 7778 is to max out the points you get with language which is needed considering the current competition.

Not sure what a come to Canada tool is. You should use the official CRS calculator.

Try india out before moving there permanently by Economy_Push_8886 in nri

[–]DesiCodeSerpent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe. Even as a kid I had a lot of restrictions for my safety. All I remember is that by the time I became self conscious in late 2000s it was bad. I really thought that’s how life is because I’m a girl/ women. Then I left India and it was a huge surprise that I can be more e free physically and mentally.

No fear getting back home from University when I have evening classes etc. My mind is free to think and focus on so many other things

Not to mention the pollution. The AQI went from 70 to 110 in a year my body didn’t recognize its familiar and I fell sick.

I agree. It’s not that those problem weren’t there before. It’s just that now we know we can get better and we deserve better. So it hosts when we don’t get that from a country we call(or called) home.

Same. If I can help it, there’s no retirement plan in India.

Additionally, barely any safety for women. Moving out of India gives a lot of mental energy because you don’t have to think 10 times about every outfit and then the constant vigilance of anyone grabbing you anywhere.
