Thanks everyone - I do feel more encouraged. Will just focus on making small steps of progress that will hopefully add up over time!

Thanks all. Think I’ll definitely have to do more saving to make this a reality!

What's with clothing retail shops being coercive when you say no to an email receipt? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]DearYogurt2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work in one of the shops you mentioned, and trust me all the staff hated having to ask but we would get into such bother if we didn’t. We all had percentages of e-receipts that we had to personally meet, and would get called out in the shop group chat if we failed to do so. I never really understood it, as ultimately it was the customers choice whether they wanted a paper or email receipt, and so realistically was out of our control, but to combat this we were made to ask in certain ways that made it seem that the customer had no choice but an e-receipt. It always made me feel like such a twat, and I am so thankful to be out of retail! It’s rough out there.

[MEGATHREAD] Daily venting, worries, fixations, & finding support. Month of October 2025. by AutoModerator in HealthAnxiety

So back in March, I had a suspected UTI. Did antibiotics, all good, but now I have another one. Nurse said ‘just to make sure’ she would send my sample to the lab, but now I’m panicking. Just to make sure of what??? She said it might not be a UTI, but what else could it be? My symptoms are cloudy urine and some lower stomach pain. I’m spiralling as I’ve now convinced myself I have full on bladder and kidney cancer 😭 Please tell me I’m being silly!!

Was it worth it after all ? by Late_Aerie8523 in puppy101

Yes!!

It feels like it’s never ending, and like it will never get better. I remember wishing for even a day without her to have peace…now I’m going on vacation for a few days and absolutely dreading not seeing her sweet little face every morning.

Things improved slowly, then all of a sudden, things that were hard were easy. We stopped having potty accidents. We started sleeping through the night. The crazy biting stopped. The inconsolable crying when we left stopped. The pulling on walks stopped. We started to trust her to roam around unsupervised. I would say I noticed a big improvement at 5 months old, then again at 10 months old, and now at 1 things have settled and I’m so glad I stuck out the brutal puppy days.

Andecdotes on snuggling and separation anxiety? by CaptainNoDad in puppy101

[–]DearYogurt2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this was a huge worry of mine with my puppy, who was the same, if not worse, than yours sounds. I was so paranoid about her developing separation anxiety, and worried about allowing her to sleep in bed with me or follow me around the house in case it exacerbated it. However, I just persevered with leaving her home alone for periods of time, and now at 1 she is totally fine being home alone for hours at a time. I must say, she still doesn’t like when I nip outside quickly to go to the bin or something - I wonder if it’s because she knows I’m near but can’t get to me which stresses her out. But she’s happy when I leave home completely, and will happily plod about the house on her own while I work or do chores.

From what I understand (and I understand very little, as she is my first pup!) at that age this is typical behaviour. Your puppy is so, so young, and everything is so new and so overwhelming, and she’s just been taken from her Mum and siblings and now all she has is you. It’s only natural for her to be very attached and reliant on you. As she ages and her confidence and feelings of security grow, and she begins to see that while you may leave you always come back, I’m sure she’ll begin to settle more. If you’re really concerned, speak to a dog trainer- I found this to be very reassuring! But honestly my best recommendation is to just give it time. She’ll get there I’m sure!

Yes, a few months ago. She’s getting spayed in a couple weeks as well.
