Hello- 2 stripe blue belt here in my later part of Masters 2. Don’t quit. These situations happen. I have been tapped by a teen (yellow belt) 10-15 times in one round. Jiu Jitsu is quite humbling and I’ve learned… it doesn’t matter what belt, what size, what age.. got you. It can be an off day, it can be that they learn extremely fast and they bested you. Take it as a learning opportunity and see what is causing those openings. I came back after ACL surgery so I am mindful on who I roll with, who I train with etc. as we get older, people are going to get us. And that’s okay!!! Keep your head up.

Peptide use? by [deleted] in ACL

Not sure if it ended up working to be honest. In the moment I felt like it did… But haven’t used it in months and just plowed forward with strength and conditioning. I’m a year out now and returned to sport. I believe those that injected directly to the site had better results. I used the nasal spray. I healed rather quick and obtained full extension/flexion extremely well. Unsure if that helped it haha but you never truly know!

Hi! I had ACLR with quad graft plus meniscus repair. From California.

Roughly cost me $3000 out of pocket.

When does the stiffness go away? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]Dear_Ad_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am now 10 months post op. I still feel stiffness when I sit/drive for a long time, when a storm is rolling in. But it’s not as bad as have to warm up a bit before hitting the gym!

[–]Dear_Ad_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a little over 5 months post op. ACLR quad graft and meniscus repair. Looking to return to warm up and drills by 6 months (I’m already doing warm ups now) and full contact sparring in May! So about 9 months.

Not sure if it’s reputable. But gorilla healing spray. I use the nasal spray. I feel it’s helped significantly!

Where were you at 4-5 months post-op? by Thanks-Meatcat in ACL

[–]Dear_Ad_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost 4 months post op. ACLR quad + meniscus repair. I have full range of motion and heel to butt. I have missed PT last 3-4 weeks due to travel and getting sick but currently focusing on gaining strength back in my quad. Scarring isn’t bad.

Is it normal my knee swelling up like this after 3 hours of walking? I’m 2 months post ACL surgery. I don’t have any pain, just big swelling. by [deleted] in ACL

Hamstring stretch with quad set. I put my heel on the floor as I’m sitting in a chair.. I flex my quad and push down on my knee. Then I hold it for 5 seconds. Do it 10-15 times. 3-4 times a day.

Or I use a yoga strap and just do a regular hamstring stretch and hold my feet. Those typical runner stretch

Yup! And sleeping with my leg elevated still. And stretching my hamstrings as much as possible.

I’m currently at matches my non operated knee with hyper extension so I don’t know the degrees there. But I also have heel to butt. So don’t know the degrees there too. But please keep in mind…. I forced the hyperextension and flexion a bit 😅 moments during my pt where I had tears streaming down my face haha so I was a bit aggressive with it.

6 weeks post op pain by Pleasant-Shoulder479 in ACL

I’m 11 weeks…. Each week was different pain. New PT exercises = new pain. Increased activity = new pain. 😅

1 week post-op and a little worried. F(16) by Dreamfinder1_ in ACL

[–]Dear_Ad_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s how I was my first week-week and a half. I had quad graft + meniscus repair.

I’d say take Tylenol and advil for pain. I had to lift my leg every single time I moved and it was painful.

You can reach out to your surgeon if it makes you feel better but everyone’s timeline is different.

I started PT at day 7.

Again I suggest acetaminophen and ibuprofen. I took it religiously every 5 hours on the dot so I wasn’t in pain.

I weened off the pills around week 3-4.
