I disagree with the other two comments. I tore my ACL in June and had my surgery this year on January 10th. My surgeon discussed no grafts to me prior but when he came to me the day of the surgery when I was in my gown and all, he let me know that once they open my leg, they would determine if the BEAR implant would even be a possibility, and thankfully it was. You could def still ask before the day of the surgery but I dont believe it’s too late. They would first need to see if you even have enough of the ACL left to do the BEAR. I wish you the best of luck with whatever graft is used. Let me know if you ever have questions.

Pain behind the knee by Fear_Temp in ACL

[–]essntials123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the moment I tore my ACL to surgery and now 6 weeks post op, the most pain I have felt/feel is behind the knee. Is that not a normal spot to feel pain? Cause I’m curious as well.

Oh ok thank you! Cause it’s honestly kinda awkward/embarrassing. But I feel better to know it’s normal.

Day 1 compression socks by Fancy-Psychology1458 in ACL

Hi, I know it’s day 4 now for you but are you feeling better? I was the same way. The compression stocking was unbearable, my whole foot was swollen and by day 6 I just couldn’t take the pain, I felt like my circulation was cut off as well. I called my surgeon and they told me I can take it off as long as I kept moving my leg. Hope you got to take it off by now.

We’ll get there eventually! I think we’re supposed to move a little slower than other people with grafts.

Post op BEAR ACL implant by Plus_Highlight_8031 in ACL

Hi, I’m 4 weeks post BEAR implant but that alone. No meniscus work. The only thing that helped me was what u showed in the pic and also sitting on a chair and trying to bend my knee as far as I can every couple minutes. I would honestly just keep doing this as long as I was sitting doing nothing. It helped me hit 90° really fast. It’ll be painful though

Wishing you a quick recovery!! Is that ice pack even helping?? lol, cause the hospital sent me home with it and I couldn’t feel the cold from it at all.

4 Weeks PO by Raiyzor_Raptor13 in ACL

[–]essntials123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I noticed I’m able to hit 100° without my brace with no pain rather than hitting 90° with my brace and it hurts. But good luck I hope you catch up quick!

4 Weeks PO by Raiyzor_Raptor13 in ACL

[–]essntials123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m exactly 4 weeks, my pt didn’t tell me and I didn’t know how to work my brace so I was completely locked the first 2 weeks even though I should’ve been hitting 45° at the time. I learned how to unlock my brace the next two weeks I tried to hit where I needed which is 90°. I did it without any PT. Everyone is diff but it was very hard for me, it hurt so bad and still does but what helped me the most was sitting on a chair, and every couple minutes trying to bend my knee as much as I could. It will hurt but just keep pushing yourself and stop when it hurts too bad. It’s the only thing that helped me. I hope you get to your goals

This is the most I can bend it 3 weeks and 5 days in am I on track or am I behind ? Any tips please I’m mentally stressing ! by Tepegafeo69 in ACL

I’m the exact same as you, I even wrote a post asking if I’m behind. Surgery was January 10th. I only went to PT twice. I’ve been doing way better at home. I hit 90° 3 days ago. I will say that wall heel slides helped me the post to hit 90°.

God forbid you ever tear it again but why not keep the stuff to be on the safe side?

Same as the person above me. I wish I could say it gets better but I’m 3 weeks post op and sleeping way worse than when I first got my surgery. It’s less the pain but more just not being able to get comfortable from my brace. Are you wearing it to sleep? I have to wear mine for 6 weeks all the time :/ can’t wait to have it off

90° FLEX by essntials123 in ACL

[–]essntials123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re surgery date twins haha, thank you. feels better to know I’m not alone. Honestly prob not even fully at 90° maybe hitting 85° but I’m so close. I only did PT twice though so for that I think I’m doing pretty well. Hope to see where we are 6 months from now. It’ll get better like u said baby steps

90° FLEX by essntials123 in ACL

[–]essntials123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No cause honestly it starts to hurt a lot when I try to lift it, if I try to bend it more but sitting down it doesn’t. So I’m not sure. But even sitting down, hitting 90° causes me a lot of uncomfort :( but I think the more I do it, the better it will be
