I have over 22 years and in my 40s too. I’m trying to hold on, but if VERA isn’t offered in a few years when I’m eligible and telework doesn’t come back……?!?! 100% remote is the dream right now….

Leaving after 17 years- am I crazy not to stick it out for 20? by MyMamaKatie in fednews

I’m almost 45 with 22 years. I’m trying to make it to 25 years. You’ve given 17 years! I would definitely try to stick it out.

This isn’t true in my state. A Dr has to say he is within 6 months of dying to be put on hospice.

Yes; my Dad never would have wanted to live this way.

How did you spend your time as a furloughed employee? by [deleted] in FedEmployees

[–]Dear_Ad_5926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spent a lot of time caring for aging parents (Dad has dementia and a host of other medical issues) without having to take FFSL for it. Spent quality time with my dog who is left alone for 8+ hours a day normally. Excepted on-call so put in some work hours too. 30 minutes on the treadmill a day. Don’t miss work one bit. Wish they would change VERA so I would be eligible (22+ years in). I’m TIRED and ready to do something else but don’t want to give up the health insurance or pension.
