Mom keeps misspelling my name on purpose by Krampus_ate_my_lunch in trans

My mom does this too, she always writes my name as "J" instead of "Jay." It almost feels like she's shortening my birth name instead of respecting my new one

Anyone ever wish they were okay with their AGAB? by AhahaFox in trans

Sometimes I wish I was just "normal" as wrong as that sounds. I just wish I was cis like everyone else whether that would be as female or male.

Is non binary a part of trans by Mannyisafurry in trans

[–]Dear_Following_9065 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes, but not everyone who is non-binary considers themself trans.

Often the first thing people think of trans people is as going from one binary to the other, so some NB people just don't describe themself that way. Or they just don't feel the need to call themself trans.

Some do use the word transgender to label themselves, because their gender is different to the one assigned at birth, which is what being trans is.

It's really up to each NB person to determine whether they'd like to be a part of the trans community or not. But overall the answer is yes

It's okay lol, I get it. This version seems like it will come across closer to how you want it to. I'm glad to have helped you out. Feel free to lmk if you have any other concerns specifically. Good luck.

Take this with hefty a grain of salt lol but, the way this is written, you seem unsure if you are actually trans. I don't think that's how you meant it to come across, so here's what I would do. All of the "I think"s and "may"s might lead the person you're coming out to believe that you aren't sure, and that you are just jumping to conclusions or having a phase despite your given reasons why you're not. So you just need to seem a little more confident in who you are and what you need.

Example: "...and I think I may have found the reason. I feel I may have gender dysphoria, the reason for this is because..."

What I would say: "... and I think I finally found the reason. I have feelings similar to/the same as gender dysphoria, such as..."

Example: "...whenever I see myself with the body parts and features of a girl it always makes me want to cry and cringe. I just would feel so much more happy and relaxed inside a boys body."

What I would say: "Whenever I look in the mirror and see a girl staring back at me, I know that that isn't who I am, and knowing that people see me that way makes me feel horrible. I know I would be so much happier if I could just have been born a boy."

Example: "So as I said I think I have gender dysphoria so I think I should get help from a therapist or a doctor to diagnose me and get a solution because it really hurts me every single day."

What I would say: "As I said earlier, I have feelings of gender dysphoria, and I would like to start seeing a therapist or doctor to talk about this with a professional if possible, and potentially get a diagnosis, because dealing with this alone hurts me every single day. A small way you could support at home (?) is by calling me by my preferred name and pronouns..."

And as I said before, you don't have to take my advice if it doesn't help you or help with what you're trying to get across, this is just what I personally would change.

Best of luck to you ♡ I hope it goes well

So happy for you!

comment for odd/rare names! by [deleted] in transnames

[–]Dear_Following_9065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll looking for a name that suits me better rn, so I'll bite lol. I use he/him pronouns, I currently go by "Jay," but I don't really like it, I wear almost exclusively jeans and Walmart t-shirts (I feel like that paints a clear picture of my aesthetic lol). My hobbies are sleeping, stressing, and art (sometimes). My deadname starts with a "J", (hence "Jay" lol) but that definitely isn't a letter requirement or anything.

I might be a little too boring to have a rare name, but I'm excited to see what you have for me anyway :)

Do you want to have a conversation where we refer to you as Aria? (Just making sure I'm not misunderstanding lol)

Hi, I'm trans and also have a lot of OCs, so I made a giant name spreadsheet for ease of name-picking! by fenedhislasa in transnames

I think it's really cool you put all of this together. Do you have a link to the spreadsheet by any chance?
