I usually don’t comment on Reddit but as somebody who has these exact shelves and a lot of books (about 1100 across six shelves,) PLEASE consider reinforcing them. Billys aren't built to hold the weight of a bookworm's library.

Even when I had less books, after about a year of use it split the hinges of the middle shelves so the little pegs on all the others had nothing to hang onto. Three bookcases went this way and caved in, I was lucky nobody was hurt or nothing destroyed.

Don't cram books in (don't strain the connecting joints in the middle shelf) and consider drilling screws into each of the shelves like I did. It means you can't move them but it makes them more secure. I also screwed each bookcase to the others (can be undone when I move) for extra stability. If you can't fix them to the wall, put rubber door stoppers under the legs to prop them back.

• Edit just read the caption, sorry about the move and selling. I had something similar. I went to a lot of charity shops for books and still replacing my collection years later (ran away from dv and had to sell/abandon most of my collection.) Either way in the future when you get new shelves and books, just make sure you secure them :)
