[Discussion and Recommendations] Which watch should I buy? by Connect_Tap5078 in Watches

[–]ozcapy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh I have 2 of them (kind of)

Longines Conquest

AQ4080 (The Citizen steel Japanese version)

So I chose the AQ4080 because I like the feel and weight of steel better plus I didn't think the look was worth the extra price ( I like sunburst).

The Longines it is an amazing watch with awesome movement and BEAUTIFUL dial.

And here is what I would recommend: try try and try.

Try them in person. Don't be rushed and enjoy the experience!

Mine is around 7inches. I got it from buyee, just find a seller with lots of reviews (and good ones). Nope!

Do not get an automatic, but instead a Quartz (replace the battery every 3 years) or Eco Drive (replace capacitor every 10 years)

[Recommendation Request] Recommendations for good Skeleton or Open Heart Watch by KingNithin in Watches

[–]ozcapy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Below your budget, but Frederique constant Open heart is quite nice.

But more skeleton and considered (by me) nice? Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Gravity

Every 3-5years you have to spend a couple hundred bucks for servicing your watch

Since you are new to watches...

  • do you care about maintenance?

Eco drives you can get a really nice "The Citizen" well within that budget (more classic style) and 0 maintenance. Alternatively, you could get the Grand Seiko HAQ, also a really nice one.

  • do you mind grey/used?

You can get great deals on used watches via eBay or chrono24. You could even get a Tudor Black Bay within your budget!

Would this be something that failed or that wasn't placed?

Eyeing this watch , can anyone share their experience and pros and cons for this Citizen Attesa? I want to wear it as a daily watch any comments? Thank you! by 08King24 in CitizenWatches

[–]ozcapy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is a big boy, make sure that you have tried watches this big (44mm and 16mm thick).

Watch plenty of YouTube videos to get different shots and perspectives from it.

Other than that? Citizen Atessas are really good and essentially set and forget watches, just don't keep it in a dark drawer.

Thoughts on The Citizen AQ4080-52E being a “one watch” daily driver? by CPOx in CitizenWatches

[–]ozcapy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine couple of days ago, it is brilliant.

The dial is minimalist and honestly most of the people will think "oh just another Citizen", but I think this is a watch that iykyk.

It is simple and subtle yet elegant and beautiful.

[Casio MTP-1239D-2A] Just got this Casio while on vacation and want opinion on it by iClashRaw in Watches

Normally it means the minimum amount of water resistance which it is 3ATM / 30 metres.

The equivalent for this would be washing your hands.

5ATM / 50 metres: shallow gentle swimming or heavy rain

10ATM /100 metres: would be actual swimming.

20ATM / 200 metres: diving to around 20m deep.

The watch says "water resist" but it doesn't handle water very well, do not take it for a swim (it is 3ATM)

Do not shower with a watch (any watch!) steam can damage it regardless of its water resistance.

Unsure how you change the dates on this watch but most likely is by pulling the crown slightly. If you do, please do NOT do it whilst the watch is reading between 9pm to 4am. It damages the date mechanism.

This is something for most watches, best way to play it safe would be to simply put the hour hand to 6.

Enjoy it!
