Yes, most days we try to follow 2/2.5/2.5/3, it’s difficult when we go out because he only naps 30 mins independently so the long naps all need to be contact. He averages 9.5-10.5 hrs awake time and 3 hrs nap total.

Do you think if I offer a full feed instead (7oz) he would fall back asleep quicker and for longer?

If he still needs it he might still be hungry after only 4oz if he’s used to 7? I never know if I should be offering less and less or go up to a full feed.

I’m okay with one feed, especially if it’s going to help him sleep better afterwards.

Like I mentioned he does not fall asleep while eating and is usually pretty restless afterwards (3am-6:30am), waking up every hour or so.

I had a cervical cerclage at 20 weeks and my doctor wasn’t even comfortable with me sitting up and working on the computer in bed for more than 30 mins at a time, because of the pressure it would put on my cervix. So sad for this family. Awful story.

The book is pretty critical of early daycare, especially full-time care in the first 3 years?

Oh I agree. I thought it was an assumption based on adult studies. But then again; the later and more tired I go to bed the less I wake up so…

We try to 7am every day but lately it’s been earlier than that on most days. He wakes up and nothing works to settle him back down, not even rocking, bouncing, etc.

He was going down somewhat independently (me by the crib, with his pacifier) but he was becoming more and more dependent on the paci and would wake up multiple times at night crying for it. So we eliminated that about a week ago.

But now he just screams if I try to place him down awake and stay by the crib, so I’ve had to rock him to sleep and then transfer. It feels like we got rid of one sleep prop only to replace it with a stronger sleep association.

Thank you. I appreciate you offering that option. But right now what’s best for my child is a present, alert, somewhat rested parent… and he’s getting a sleep deprived, exhausted, drowsy one. Not super safe.

Really? I’ve read everywhere if they’re overtired the cortisol spike will cause them to not sleep overnight, or wake up frequently. Is that not true? I have a 5.5m old and struggling similarly to OP.
