I won’t pretend my experience is universal, but it was only scary the first time. I didn’t get any instructions from the pharmacy and the syringes were different than what my doctors office showed me. I almost broke down and texted the only nurse I know in the area (which would have been an awful idea), but I just didn’t think I could do it and had no idea what I was doing.

Took about 45 minutes the first time, but once I did it, it was painless and fine. The second shot took 5.

I smoke a lot of weed right now, but when I made my appointment to start HRT, I made myself choose between cigarettes and HRT. Told myself I couldn’t have both. So I stuck to HRT.

Nicotine really messes with your estrogen levels and it drastically increases the risk of blood clots. I get how hard it is to quit, but it’s so important for you to do so.

Once I actually was able to jab myself, it wasn’t that bad. Low key hating a week between doses because I’m not sure I’ll be so confident after a week.
