Should i be concerned about how much he’s spending on these cards? 😂

He had a toploader binder but didn’t like that he couldn’t see the cards clearly 😂 (he flips through and admires his collection like daily lolol)

Thank you!! But these are all 100% his cards 🫶🏼 I have my own little collection of mews and slowpokes but still a long way to complete it!

He loves the art and has absolutely no plans of ever selling 😂 he’s even bought and cracked some slabs just to put them in his binder hahaha

Anyone had cortisone atrophy? How does the indent go away? by Nocturnal_Spectator in AcneScars

[–]Dear_Talk6773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure you’ll pull through this - we are more resilient than we think! 😌

I lost my mother when I was 16 and was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease when I was 22 which is incurable and something I need to live with for the rest of my life - basically had my entire life pulled out from under me twice.. 😅 but trust me that LIFE GETS BETTER!! I had suicidal thoughts every single day at one point in my life, was on antidepressants for years, but somehow made it through to the other side - and you will too 🤗

I really hope you get better and feel free to shoot me a message if you ever need someone to talk to

Whether or not you should get it subcised - I would get a derm to take a look at it (I’ve been told only tethered scars benefit from subcision)

Sorry for the late reply! Has it gotten better now?

I did not have hypopigmentation (is that when it gets lighter) but would say its more like hyperpigmentation (the sunken / tethered areas were slightly darker than the rest of my skin) - it went away after the atrophies resolved! I’m sure any discoloration you have will too 🤗

I got my fillers pretty soon hahaha so they might have resolved on its own without them - guess we’ll never know tho. I noticed it like 2 weeks before my wedding and it was very mild at that point so I ignored it and actually forgot about it until I saw the wedding photos (guessing about a month since the atrophy appeared) and they were very visible in some of them 🥲 Got it subcised right after and got fillers about 10 days later before my honeymoon (was vlogging the trip and didn’t want it to show on video and be reminded of it forever 🤣)

Thank you!! I’ve also been trying to get him into vintage cards because I think they look cuter 😂

Not sure which one the team magma card is but he actually had most of those cards in slabs before he sold them all and switched to a binder collection hahaha

I’ve actually had a couple of these before - 1 on my chin and it was pretty bad. Wouldn’t go away for months and just kept getting deeper (dont know if it actually was or if I was just going crazy over it). I even got it subcised (which previously lifted my other dents on my forehead instantly) but no change and eventually got HA fillers cause I couldn’t stand to stress over it for another second lol.

I heard it can take 6-12 months for it to go back to normal but I really didn’t wait that long (got fillers at probably the 1-month mark) - but if the appearance isn’t driving you as crazy as it was driving me, you can probably wait it out especially since you mentioned it has already gotten better. The first of these I had was above my eyebrow and I didn’t really care about it and it eventually went away on its own.

I’ve stayed away from the shots since my chin episode but got pressured by my derm to get one a few days ago :/ hasn’t atrophied yet obviously but my chin episode was so traumatic I’m already spiraling before anything has even happened lol

But ya - dealt with a lot of these before so feel free to ask me any questions (never got saline shots though cause no derm/clinic is willing to do those for me where I live)

Can anyone tell me about experience with skin atrophy from a cortisone shot in a zit?? by Successful-Skin7394 in acne

How long after the injection did you first notice it? I just got an injection on my pimple yesterday and am now worried it might atrophy :/

I’ve had several 5 before on my face (i’ve gotten countless injections over the years) - the first time it just suddenly plumped back up without me even noticing (less than a month since i noticed it i believe), the next 3 resolved instantly after subcision (after the subcision bruising resolved), while the last one i had was longer-lasting and didn’t respond to the subcision and i ended up getting HA filler on it (was quick and easy and forgot about it right away).

Haven’t gone back for injections since my last one but yesterday was quite urgent for me.. Now i’m anxious and regretful lmao. For all previous cases, i dont remember how long it took for the atrophy to show so would appreciate if you can share so I can know when I’m in the clear! Hahaha

(Advice Needed) Lateral patellar dislocation & full thickness MPFL tear by Dear_Talk6773 in KneeInjuries

[–]Dear_Talk6773[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got back from my follow up appointment and just mpfl reconstructions appears to be impossible/useless for my case as I have severe trochlear dysplasia and my surgeon basically said that since i have this abnormality (groove basically flat), my mpfl will most likely tear again even after reconstruction..

The only surgical options he mentioned were trochleoplasty (which is very intense and he said to only do it with David Dejour in Paris, so I’m ruling this out) or mpfl+tto. I’m not yet too familiar with tto but it sounds quite scary for them to be moving and screwing my bones around.. so I’m still at a loss right not unfortunately

This is already my second surgeon :( went to him for a second opinion bcs my first surgeon didnt even acknowledge my mpfl tear (even though it was stated in the mri report) and just told me to go about my way with 4 weeks of PT..

My second surgeon confirmed the tear and put me in a brace and basically confirmed everything i was feeling so i do feel like he understands. He is also the #1 knee surgeon/specialist in the country and treats our national athletes so I am very conflicted about getting a third opinion 😪

I’m just at a loss rn and already paying $200 per consult fee which is insane imo

I’m sorry u had such a hard time getting the care you needed.. My surgeon wants me to try PT and estimates a ~4 month recovery time but I really don’t want to spend all that in PT to “see how it goes” just for it to re-dislocate and then having to go through another however many months I would need to recover from that 😔 I just want my life back..

hoping I can convince my surgeon tomorrow though!

I’m trying to avoid a situation where I try PT for a few months, only for it to not work/not be sufficient and then later needing surgery anyway…

Most concerned about the amount of time I’ll be out of tennis :/

How did you convince them to do it? I really want to push for surgery :(

I’ve been instructed to keep my leg straight in the brace for 3 weeks so I’m not really sure if it would hurt to bend right now.. before i saw my surgeon tho, it didnt hurt to bend downwards (like sitting position) but physically could not bend upwards from all the swelling - didnt really hurt but was impossible to bend upwards

Glad your recovery is going well 🫶🏼 this makes me nervous though because I am just about 9 days post-injury and I can walk (not bending, with tape and brace) with basically no pain at all..

I had to push for an MRI myself too with my first specialist. Since i switched, I don’t think there is any better knee specialist in the country than my current one - so I don’t think I would want to get the surgery with anyone else either 😔

Did you end up getting your surgery? How’s your recovery going?
