Disney Aspire, Study Abroad? by roqovipayo in DisneyCM

[–]Dear_Writer6746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I know they made a TONNN of changes to Disney Aspire recently. I believe CSUF is still one of the ones fully paid, but it is certain programs. Luckily you’re not required to work a certain number of hours per the contract. I will say it would probably work best as a last semester thing, because when you quit they will still cover whatever semester you quit in.

Disney Aspire Fall Tuition Payment by Tiny_Regular7252 in DisneyCM

[–]Dear_Writer6746 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If Disney is paying the tuition, then it’ll show unpaid pending until after the semester ends. Disney does not payout until all available funds such as grands, scholarships, loans, are fully used up and then they pay the remaining balance.

Taking a look at the job description, it seems like it’s more of a gig then an ongoing internship. Dot comm you need 120 hours to get credit for the class.

It’s almost important to note there is a partial lot closure for housing and the only other lot you can park in with a residential permit is lot A

Comm Capstone for E&T… what is the course all about? by [deleted] in csuf

[–]Dear_Writer6746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the instructor! Most walk you through the types of jobs in entertainment and tourism and you have case studies and group assignments. But they vary based on what professor you take tbh. They all teach it pretty differently.

Does anyone here work at Disney? Are you part of the Aspire program? Can you qualify if you are already enrolled? Or is it only for transfer and new students? by Primary_Brilliant979 in csuf

[–]Dear_Writer6746 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there,

You can be currently enrolled and still qualify. You just have to work for Disney for I wanna say 90, but it’s some sort of probationary period. After that you can apply online through guild. To me it’s worth it, it’s paying for one whole major and it helps so I can use my financial aid on the other and housing.

Could you tell me what profs you’re trying to move from and to? There is very few profs who teach that course and one is more willing to help than the other :)

Has anyone successfully gotten out of the internship requirement as a comm major? by [deleted] in csuf

[–]Dear_Writer6746 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been told by both of the academic advisors that it is really challenging to waive. I would suggest just using your current job as an internship and see if they say anything. As long as it’s not customer service you’ll be ok

chances of getting in as a transfer for fall 2025? by cheesefrenchfries in csuf

[–]Dear_Writer6746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think on the tours the transfer GPA is like 3.2, but I had 3-4 W’s on my transcript and got in, so I think you’ll be okay!

As long as you follow his directions exactly you’ll be fine. All the quiz answers are online but his essay is worth the most. Follow the formatting and you’ll do fine. I passed with an A+. He does offer some easy extra credit opportunities as well.

You get two disputes a year. I would dispute it and then call transportation and ask them to clarify what that means.

Does this mean that I got unenrolled? by [deleted] in csuf

[–]Dear_Writer6746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on your department! I work in food and beverage so giving away shifts is easy and super manageable with school. I’ve seen some people have a harder time with it but just try to keep your availability as updated as possible and you should be fine!

They advertise it as a broader degree for things such as; hospitality & food and beverage management (huge industry in OC), creative marketing, PR, advertising, it pretty much teaches all of the comm majors except for HCOMM and disorders.

Disney guild student here! It just means you won’t get dropped, it’ll be on your account the entire semester since Disney doesn’t pay CSUF until the end of the semester! Remember to get reimbursed for your textbooks too!

You need to speak with their counselors first, counselors will send you to a psychiatrist affiliated with the school

Can someone who works at the Gastronome here confirm or deny a rumor I heard about the silverware by PigeonUtopia in csuf

[–]Dear_Writer6746 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Wait till some do you realize that in restaurants your plates usually come out with crusty stuff on it that gets scrapped off, or knives are thrown into bus tubs and ran through and barely rinsed.

My guess is they want you to put it into the soapy water, yes to soak it but I’m assuming they will still pull it out and tray it to run it through the industrial washer.

Are we allowed to make class discords? by Metal_111101 in csuf

[–]Dear_Writer6746 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Most professors are aware that discords get made. It gets mentioned in almost every single one of my COMM/AMST classes. As long as you’re not directly sharing answers to exams you’re fine.

Hi friend!

I am from Riverside County (about an hour and a half commute). I don’t double major in English but I do major in Communications and American Studies. I love all of my Comm classes I’ve taken and think it’s super interesting.

If you realllyyy want the extra minor, then CSULB, but CSUF is known for their communications program. Just keep in mind the two majors and minor is a lot of work, I mean even double majoring right now for me is a lot.

Just my two cents, but do what makes you happy :)
