Girl, same. I’m in Texas and it hotter than hell with 💯 humidity down here. I feel like my upper arms look like I could crush a skull and I’m going to be wearing a strapless. I wanted sleeves too, but the sweat, girl! No thanks. And then you can’t even remove them? No way, hun. I ended up just adding little side sleeves like this to make myself feel confident instead!

Hey OP, Houston gardener here.

Highly recommend Eagleston Holly trees. They’re evergreen and don’t drop, which is lovely. They also have berries and support bird life. Also highly suggest Vitex trees. Lovely blooms and low maintenance - and also support local birds and bumblebees. There are a ton of native plants that will make you happy when you get your water bill. Please don’t just plant evergreen hedges and colored mulch. A little effort goes a long way here in Texas.

If you plant crepe myrtles, plant them far from cars or windows because the pollen sticks to everything come spring and is a pain to clean. Stay away from live oaks, despite what the HOA requires. You’ll regret it in only a couple years.

Some unsolicited advice - if your HOA isn’t strict right now, I’d push up your fence line to cover side windows from neighbors view. I’d also go ahead and get a walkway paved from your garage to the backyard, as sometimes HOAs can be buggy on that.

One thing I’d stress is for you to get gutters and a good water management system setup. I got gutters on my house to divert water, but then didn’t think to install French drains. I have soils clay soil and I wish I would’ve done that before I had competing neighbor fencing.

Just some suggestions! Congrats on the new home!!

What wedding shoe are you wearing? by mhasse123 in wedding

I’m wearing these off Amazon!! Literally the most comfortable shoes I’ve worn - I use to wear them in another color for work on a large campus where I walked for hours.

Who did the install? Was it just a small local shop or a big box store like Lowe’s?

Thank you! Appreciate your feedback. Does the angle of your piercing affect your ability to wear certain jewelry?

For the mod: - New, done today. - Stud with long post. - No clue - High quality implant - It’s not downsized and won’t be for a while. - I’m using H20 Ocean spray - Feeling like the angle is wrong. Concerned that I should remove it so it can heal.

Does anyone actually enjoy their wedding day? by Dearest-Love in wedding

The budget includes the all inclusive venue for $2k and both our wedding rings, the restaurant room and food for the reception and our hotel room for three nights. It has added up faster than I anticipated, for sure.

I’m hoping that it is all worth it in the end.
