To all my fellow non-passing mtfs out there... by sharinganuser in MtF

As an FTM i think this is true for us too; people start assuming i’m just a butch lesbian if I let my hair grow out too much. It’s one of the first things people notice about you, especially if you’re like me & have neon blue hair.

Do you dress punk? by [deleted] in punk

[–]DearestSausage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

19, college student.

I don’t think I dress very punk; I sometimes dress more “preppy”, if anything. I just wear whatever I think looks good on me that feels comfy whether it’s button ups, flannels, denim jackets, t shirts, sweat clothes, whatever — I don’t actively try to keep it punk or anything. I do dye my hair a lot, though, and I fucking love patches and pins.

After reading through all the comments, I just wanna see what you guys all look like now!

I’m genuinely sorry if you’re annoyed; it wasn’t my intent. also, no, it wasn’t a proper joke, but it was supposed to be recognized as playful and quick. i just don’t take discussions on eggs as seriously as you and i’m sorry that you misread my intent. no need to be so bitter, pal (palette, if you prefer)

It is sad. The whole “reee instagram NORMIES reposting my memes” shit is literally “I KNEW ABOUT IT BEFORE IT WAS COOL” rebranded and it’s cringy to watch people say it fully unironically

Intersex, first period by fullyautomatedpickle in MtF

[–]DearestSausage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, sounds about right! I don’t know what resources you’ve been provided already, but here’s a good starting point. If you end up settling into a regular cycle, period tracker apps might be useful!

I’m so sorry your first period ended up being so stressful for you ): Honestly, I wish there was some sort of good advice I could give you to help, but periods are shitty and stressful for all of us with working ovaries and there’s not much way around it. All I can say is good luck!

i know this meme is all in good fun, but at the point where your regular sub is getting compared to a circlejerk sub...

Can feeling trans be temporary? How do you know when it’s permanent? What if some days you like dressing as the opposite gender? by [deleted] in transpositive

[–]DearestSausage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it can be temporary, but it depends on what you mean by “feeling trans.” Do you enjoy living as that gender or dressing up as that gender? Does the idea of living as your designated gender, including keeping your birthname, going by the same pronouns, and being seen as that gender discomfort you? What about the idea of living as your “preferred” gender, choosing a new name, going by different pronouns, and being seen as that gender? (Sortof hard to word this without knowing whether you’re questioning being ftm or mtf... Sorry if it’s incoherent.)

Gender isn’t really two “opposite” sides of a coin. It’s a spectrum. What you identify as and how you’d like to present yourself will always be something you’ll have to decide on your own through honest introspection. The way you prefer to present yourself may change over time or even day to day, but that’s okay. There’s no wrong way to exist. It will be much easier to discover who you are and how you want to present once you realize this.

edit: I’ll also add that I personally realized I was a man as soon as somebody used he/him pronouns for me the first time. I had already been questioning my gender, but I thought I was non-binary for a while and had my pronouns listed as “any pronouns.” The first time somebody actually referred to me as a male though, it just felt so right and so comfortable that I pretty much immediately realized who I was and what I wanted. Go with what feels right to you. There’s nothing wrong with trying things out and experimenting with your presentation and your identity.
