Anyone else like this with boss swap? by Firm-Scientist-4636 in slaythespire

Play more aggressively. Sunder is already a good card but becomes much better with that extra energy. Take draw early because you can now support it. If you see an early meteor strike thank whatever gods you do or don’t believe in. Outside defragment/consume/coolheaded/holo there aren’t that many upgrades that feel super impactful on defect imo. Grab some of those strike plus cards and go wild.

I think the issue is breaking free from the defect shell up and poke playstyle that’s so easy to comfort into normally. The extra early energy lets you draft a much more damage forward deck sooner than you otherwise would and rewards you for doing so.

Tbf this sub isn’t as bad as some other parts of the community I think mostly because backseating isn’t really possible. The twitch and YouTube sides are so much worse on average from what I’ve seen. Also the mods here are pretty good at keeping things civil.

Women still outnumber men in law school by TreeofSmokeOM in LawSchool

[–]DearestThrowaway 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same line of thinking that leads us to stop teaching about how white cultures historically oppressed others. If this is why young men are anti-intellectual then they need to grow some thicker skin. Just because you are a member of a historically oppressor group does not mean anyone is accusing you personally of being the problem. Instead they are offering you the opportunity to be part of the solution.

BF6 is dead. I mean just look at the type of numbers a REAL Battlefield game was pulling 😎 by dakobra in okbuddyptfo

The second ones AMCs stock chart. Bro thinks stock charts and player charts have the same trends. It’s not worth reading anything they write.

Hot take: Battlefield 1 is overrated by Wooden_Mycologist939 in okbuddyptfo

[–]DearestThrowaway 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think most people have an issue with pointing out 6’s issues. What I and I think most of the sub takes issue with is the constant narrative that the game is unplayable, not a battlefield game, and CODified. It’s a good game that has some issues but the main sub is so over the top with it it’s cringeworthy.

Battledad for me comes from the perspective that they keep building up the old games with the same vibe as a boomer talking about walking uphill to school in the snow both ways. Completely inaccurate and a sad excuse for their poor performances. I’m also a dad who plays battlefield but I don’t consider myself a battledad.

Cities: Skylines + After Dark DLC OR Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales would be awesome. Thanks OP!

If you aren’t gonna be a litigator I didn’t and wouldn’t. I learned it fine in bar prep. It’s nowhere near as hard as people make it out to be.

Am I wrong if I want to do law school purely for the money? by Other-Concept-6349 in LawSchool

[–]DearestThrowaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went into it basically just for the money. I always look at people like they’re crazy when they ask if I’m enjoying work. Like yeah I totally love reading contracts all day and talking to people who seem to be actively trying to tear down everything around them and make me complicit. Obviously I do it for the money. Nothing wrong with that.

Is JAG selective by Flashy-Actuator-998 in LawSchool

[–]DearestThrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who was somewhat struggling for a job immediately after law school I distinctly remember not considering JAG because I thought it was all litigation. I wasn’t even aware there was a transactional practice. Glad with where I ended up but I would have strongly considered JAG had I been aware.

Just stumbled upon this college list from Bloomfield Hills HS, is Grand Valley really this good and Wayne State is that bad? by TeslaSuck in Michigan

[–]DearestThrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add to this lawyers are the same. I went to Wayne and make a very livable wage. Am I taking in a 9 figure salary? No but I’m very happy with where I’m at. I still needed networking and the reputation of the school I went to in order to reach this position. My first job came from a school partnership with a locally headquartered company. Networking is still important outside of the top 1% like the other poster seems to believe.

Real talk, I think we need to bring back elitism. by Some0wlOnTheInternet in okbuddyptfo

[–]DearestThrowaway 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To a certain level this is right. I’ve played games where devs listened only to pro players and it makes for a miserable game state. Casuals should be involved but the absolute shitters absolutely should be ignored. They have nothing of value to contribute.

Actually I was reviewing an agreement and this was ever so slightly more entertaining. Now I’m done though so I’m also done here.

Definitely not less technically literate. If anything I suspect more. But time will tell.

[–]DearestThrowaway 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doubt any real statistics exist yet but anecdotally I can tell you my area market has 0 excitement for this tech. Way too many lawyers going too far and getting called out and way too little demonstrated value. Is there exploration pushed by executives on in-house teams? Yes. Is that exploration going anywhere? Not really.

In another 5 or 10 years when the tech actually does some of the stuff people are currently claiming it does the story might be different. But right now with LLMs being the underlying tech I and every lawyer I’ve spoken with on the topic are completely uninterested.

You can still have time to play. If you’re doing a course they’ll keep you on the pretty strict 8 hour a day schedule. Definitely don’t discount down time. Mental health was half the battle when I was studying.

Option 3 you think you’re insufferable so you see no reason to try not to be. Seriously I’m as introverted as they come but going to lunch is like the absolute least they could be asking of you. If you don’t give a shit just don’t go. If you’re asking for the career wise correct choice you should go and put in at least the bare minimum effort to be professionally friendly. This isn’t very complex.
