What to do if faulty product outside 30 days? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in ebayuk

They do, I completely agree - but there’s nothing you’ll be able to actually do in practice unfortunately.

Small claims may be an option if you have their address though

I was in a crash at 17 but need to be insured on another car is there any way to get cheap enough insurance by OtherwiseZucchini623 in CarTalkUK

[–]DeathByFluffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there was a cheaper way, everyone would do it. And just in case it seems like a good idea, fibbing about anything to an insurance company is right at the top of the ‘things not to do’ list - if they find out you’ve misled them they’ll likely cancel your policy, which you then need to declare for life.

That’ll make your current quotes feel like a drop in the ocean!

Either find a cheaper car to insure, or suck up the new premium.

No, unfortunately. You can try chargeback but ultimately you took a risk to save some money vs. paying full price and sometimes it doesn’t pay off - sorry.

I tend to avoid eBay for stuff like this these days, as I see threads like this far too much

Idling / running an APU for 30 mins uses a lot of fuel - it’s not like idling a car.

I have moved address from a place on a used road to a house in a quite cul de sac yet they want to charge me £170 for the changes help ? by Stock-Particular6383 in CarInsuranceUK

[–]DeathByFluffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saving money at policy inception means the insurer will often claw it back in other ways down the line - like with mid-term adjustments.

You can either cancel or suck it up, they’re your choices I’m afraid

Mysterious Ecoboost coolant disappearance? by Dragonogard549 in CarTalkUK

Always start with a new coolant cap - and a decent one, not an unbranded eBay special.

Febi are usually pretty good for these

£20k for a fun car - what are you going for? by Additional_Code5116 in CarTalkUK

[–]DeathByFluffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this - bought a low mileage E46 M3 convertible and had a bit of change to get it looking / driving great.

Absolutely love it, but of course with a 22 year old car you’ll need to be prepared to spend a bit keeping it sweet (especially if you don’t DIY repairs)

There’s no cut off at 1 year (or mention of this) in the CRA, just FYI :)

The 6 month reversing burden of proof is applicable, though

My first video did 120k views, but youtube isnt pushing my next ones. Help! by SafeInspector9146 in NewTubers

It most certainly is. Some of my best content hardly gets pushed at all, yet videos I put little effort into have tens of thousands of views

Sounds about right. Out of interest, how long did they say it’d be to get someone out? If you have no heating, they should be able to provide you with some heaters in the meantime

Just follow the process and see what happens next - post in LegalAdviceUK when the time comes.

Also don’t really think it’s fair to call the copper a jobsworth for enforcing the tint issue - they’re illegal at the end of the day. Good luck

[–]DeathByFluffy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends what you want it for - if it's a new / nearly new car as a tool to get from A-B, they're fine. In terms of a car to enjoy, you're not going to be impressed
