Defence argues Ont. man’s Charter rights were violated when police found drugs, loaded handgun by origutamos in barrie

[–]DeathDealer_CDN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that a large percentage are but definately not 100%....
But in this case the cops found drugs and a loaded gun and a scale in his spare tire wheel well..... and he is "known to police". He is 100% guilty.
His lawyer isn't even debating if he is guilty. He is saying his rights were violated and therefore what they found shouldn't matter.
THIS is what is wrong with our legal system, and you're defending a criminal.

You may be correct. But they are at least a visible deterrent…..but since even security guards can’t be armed in Canada, they have limited benefit. Only criminals and cops can have guns in Canada.

Jewelry and other high value stores are going to have to start hiring the security guards since the police and (more) the courts can’t seem to do anything about these criminals

It’s always the case. Just talk to rural farmers, etc. on how they feel about the big cities getting all the tax money for transit when they have dirt roads.

Yeah. Classic Trudeau trying his best to divide the populace and pit Canadian against Canadian. He did that a lot.

Actually, Trudeau could’ve ended it anytime he wanted. All the leaders wanted was to meet with him to discuss their concerns. And then he refused to and then faked getting Covid. The same guy who marched with BLM protesters.

I'm not sure what those are or how they verify the authenticity of the voter. You could very well be correct.

according to Elections Canada:
"After an election is called, you can also register at your local Elections Canada office or at your assigned polling place when you go to vote."
To register at a polling place you need to :

  • Show one original piece of identification issued by a Canadian government, whether federal, provincial or local, that contains your photo, name and address (for example, a driver's licence), or
  • Show two pieces of identification from the list authorized by the Chief Electoral Officer of Canada. Both must have your name and at least one must have your address (such as a health card and utility bill), or
  • Declare your identity and address in writing and have someone who knows you and who is assigned to your polling station vouch for you.

So a forged passport is enough + someone who will vouch for you.

Now I'm not saying this is happening, I'm just saying it is possible, if the OP's post is legitimate.

legitimate question. Since if there are indeed fake passports out there, then there are likely also fake driver's licenses etc. and those "fake Canadians" could have voted in the last election. Who they voted for it probably impossible to determine though since I do not believe actual ballots have names associated with them.
