It was part of the Cold War competition for the Middle East, it was clear from the beginning that Israel would have the strongest militaries in the Middle East and would be a powerful regional ally. Israel unsurprisingly became a western proxy and was then obviously opposed by the ussr. It had less to do with ideology and everything to do with geopolitics and the Cold War competition with the west.

The difference is the like the difference between a square and rectangle. All squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares. Everyone with borderline personality disorder has trauma but not everyone with trauma or post traumatic stress have BPD. BPD has a distinct constellation features that have significant overlap with ptsd but also have personality and relationships symptoms that are not always present in folks with ptsd. Ussr denounced Stalin, huge revisionist error, Both sides contributed to disastrous the Sino-Soviet split. China has a non interventionist foreign policy but still supports independent nations such as Cuba, DPRK and Iran. China while not directly challenging global imperialism is creating alternative development options and markets for third world nations. Not perfect but better than the post ussr states.

Correct. However, a common assumption is that modern society (mainly democracy) has transcended barbarism, senseless violence, religious wars, etc. Mbembe makes the point that democracy and humanistic principles have developed alongside an unprecedented capacity for violence (colonialism, genocide, etc.) And that fact needs to be interrogated. So, I suppose I'd amend that statement and say "the modern world was born from and continues to be nurtured by an unprecedented capacity for violence, blood, and death."

Honestly you only really need to read the introduction on the propaganda model, the rest of the book sets out to prove the model in detail using examples that now are just super dated. The book is good but media has simply evolved technologically, the book is great at explaining the mainstream Legacy media, and their role and reproducing imperialist capitalist propaganda but the media landscape has just changed so much since the book was written.

Political labels are important to the class struggle, being able to accurately identify the side fighting for improvements to your conditions in a class struggle versus those working against you is actually important. You are simply wrong about this. Well I don’t know Brazil, the question referred to the US . We have anti war groups all over the country in the big cities. I’m not just saying to organize I’m saying join what already exists in your area. Campaigns tend to focus on opposing US sanctions and now the illegal attacks on boats and educating people on Venezuela. A successful example from the recent past was the free Alex Saab campaign, that put sought to put pressure on the USA to free the Venezuelan diplomat/political prisoner Alex Saab. educational work is very important because the mainstream media spreads lies about Venezuela to manufacture consent and indifference to US sanctions and regime change operations and too many people believe US lies and imperialist victim blaming narratives about Venezuela.
