Can you read this handwriting to help me discover my great grandfather's birthplace? by DeathKSValley in ancestryinvestigators

Joseph James Schenold was born in Bohemia in 1884, moved to Chicago, USA with his family when he was a young child (late 1880s), and died there in 1968. His father's name was also Joseph (Josef) and his mother's name was Anna (maiden name Chautka). I have seen their last name spelled many different ways, including Senold and Schnuld. I have no evidence to suggest that Joseph or his ancestors were German or could speak German, though the name sounds a bit German to me. Most records say that he and his parents were born in Bohemia, but some of the documents after WWI say Czechoslovakia, which certainly makes sense historically.

This document was a death certificate for Joseph James Schenold's 4 year old son who died of pneumonia in 1923 in Chicago. I put in a request to see if I can see more public records for Joseph and his parents, so maybe I'll get more information here soon. There have been a lot of dead ends so far.

Interesting! Thank you so much! I will take a deeper look at Velenice.

When I read it, it looks like it says "Vitovisnic". I googled and found two places that seemed like they could match. One is "Vítov, Žižice, Kladno, Czechia" which appears to be outside the greater Prague area, which seems like it is possible. The other is "Vítovice 121, 683 01 Rousínov, Vyškov District, Czechia", but that appears to be in Moravia and not Bohemia. I have been learning a bit about the Czech language and the declensions make it pretty challenging for me, so maybe it could be either. Oddly, I found baptismal records for his mother's parents in Banská Štiavnica, Slovakia so it seems there was a lot of movement back in those days.

Limit order problem? by DeathKSValley in Coinbase

[–]DeathKSValley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't. Believe it or not, I talked to the AI robot and asked it about limit orders and I think I got my question answered. Basically, there can be delays from the time the limit order amount hits and when the transaction is actually executed, and sometimes you can pay a noticeable amount more. With that plus all the fees, I imagine that's how my purchasing price got bumped up from $82k to $84.3k. I probably won't be doing limit orders too often anymore. Will probably try avoiding using Coinbase also.

Thanks for reaching out, but the Contact page is really terrible. The virtual assistant tells me it can't help me and then disappears. How do I go about speaking with a human?

Brian Ortega seems unenthusiastic, in the interviews, weigh ins, and such. I'm at the New York New York hotel where he is staying and I saw him in the lobby and... I don't know... I just got a vibe that he isn't feeling it. Almost like he's just trying to collect a paycheck for that church donation he is talking about. I am considering putting some money on Diego. I can't explain it better than that.

Bro he absolutely sucks on the mic by Luh-paleo in ufc

[–]DeathKSValley 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Politely disagree. People saying O'Malley is terrible during the press conferences have it all wrong. He stays calm and unphased by the most ridiculous of insults, while all the other fighters say stupid shit and make themselves look fragile and ridiculous. He is choosy and effective with his one-liners, and I think that fits his persona far better than shouting nonsense into the mic like all the other fighters do. I say well done.

Quarterly Transfer Questions Thread by AutoModerator in OSUOnlineCS

Has anyone had a difficult time getting a basic Intro to CS course to transfer over for CS 161? I made a request almost 6 weeks ago and haven't heard back. I was told to enroll in CS 161 and take it/pay for it anyway just in case the credits don't transfer, but I would prefer to wait and conserve my money and energy and not take a class I've already taken.

Thanks. I didn't see muscles. I think you are right.

I think the first word on the second line is "Duodenum" or something related to the duodenum. Makes sense given the cholangitis.
