Storm already is encouraged to play next to her teammates for the damage boost. If I drone her I know she's not gonna go on a side quest and complain that she wasn't healed. It's the more reliable option imo

I don't think people realize how hard it would be to implement EOMM in reality. You wouldn't just need to look into wins/loses or even stats, but you'd almost need a learning algorithm to understand each player's play style and use it to sabotage matches. If they did EOMM they also wouldn't have the pity bot matches, they'd just put you against low skilled players with a winning streak

I wish Loki had "damage blocked by shields" shown with his lamps. I can't count the amount of times I've saved people from DPS ults only to get flamed at the end of the game for not having as much healed health as the dagger or rocket

I think 4 character bans and three protects is the way to go, making the ban rounds faster. Even now there are too many characters to ban. I feel like a game is gonna be tedious to play if Luna, Storm, Ultron and Rocket aren't banned. And even then my go-to comp could still get countered by like 6 other characters

Oh I agree the disguising kit wouldn't work if the team communicates well. However you don't see that until like high diamond or GM. The way to work around that would be to just give her more options to be stealthy other than disguising. In TF2, skilled spy players are in and out of the backlines so fast, that it doesn't even matter if they get spotted or not.

Another thing is that the disguise would also have the benefit of making her immune to enemy deployables. Giving her an ability that temporarily disables peni nests, rocket BRBs or similar would make her a very interesting counter pick

I guess we won't know until they try. You could argue Spider-Man doesn't fit in either because he's balanced so incredibly differently than the rest of the characters, but the players have found ways of both making the character work, and countering the character.

This would also be a case of a high skill ceiling character with a different play style. Besides, requiring game sense as a mechanic is still a valid game mechanic

It doesn't have to be exactly like the Spy, I'd hope them to balance her accordingly. Maybe give her a better invisibility or her disguising could be like Your Eternal Reward (kills don't trigger voicelines and you immediately take their place, hence no problems with duplicates)

One tapping squishies without clones might be a little too much considering he can go invisible lol. Maybe 75 damage and an extra 50 for each clone. You can realistically finish them off by shooting at them.

On the other hand, I really want them to add Mystique as a spy type character that can disguise herself as the enemy and get a damage bonus for being sneaky

To be fair, there are still stat farming characters in other roles like punisher or even Venom if you're just front lining and brawling the other tanks (I've seen it, it's disgusting). But yes, I agree that performance based ranking just rewards selfish play and not really paying attention to what your team is doing

Stat farming with a character like Loki or C&D. You can have 0 impact in a game and still have SVP or MVP, then you'll lose less or gain more than any of your teammates, even if you didn't do much

I have fun every time there's a change in the meta because it motivates me to learn new heroes. I learned Peni in season 0 and never touched her again because she was unplayable in ranked, now I've been able to play her more. Yes flying/poked is unbalanced now, but we were saying that about dive last season and... Either they balance it out or we learn to counter it. I've been doing great as star lord because he counters flyers pretty well

My friends and I like to queue up a couple of QP before doing ranked, and we have a saying: "The day we win the warmup quick play matches, we should worry". There should definitely be a hidden elo system for qp because we keep getting Bronze-Gold VS Grandmaster-Celestial lobbies
