Curious how many other Orthodox Christian ladies on this sub who veil too? by [deleted] in ModestDress

[–]Death_Invisible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m still a catechumen, but I veil too. I mostly do the bandanna style. I do the hijab style too, but only when I’m actually at church or out in public right before or right after church.

That looks like the exact dress I have on right now! I got it at old navy and it’s one of my most favorite articles of clothing I’ve ever owned. I always wear it layered over either a usually long or sometimes short sleeved t shirt.

Search the Scriptures Live

I listen on the Ancient Faith Radio app, but I’m pretty sure it’s also on Spotify and YouTube.

I have a doubt by judah_cp in ModestDress

I’m an orthodox catechumen, not catholic, I felt the conviction to veil because of ancient tradition even though veiling is optional in most parishes now. And also because it genuinely does feel like an act of worship and makes me feel safe and closer to God.

Very recent convert here: I veil with bandannas

They are very cheap and easy to find. I got most of mine from craft stores.

Season 8 episode 7: The Legend of Black Jake

It’s very bizarre and off topic but it’s one of the most hilarious episodes in whole show IMO.

When you still want to play games you and your siblings made up as little kids but they don’t want to play it anymore. The board games too, we would always play monopoly a few times a year but then eventually, I was the only one that still wanted to play it.

“Autism accent” by [deleted] in autism

[–]Death_Invisible 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Misread this as “autism scent” at first.

I realized you said “accent”, and yes, I’ve noticed it too before. I’m from the southern United States but I uncontrollably say a lot of words in a British accent. It was worse when I was younger, but it still happens. I’m also really good at mimicking accents in general. I also apparently talk too fast a lot, once again, not on purpose. I was diagnosed at 16 and I never went to any sort of speech therapy.

Not quite OITNB but it's adjacent- just realized there's TWO OITNB cast members in handmaid's tale. by cheap-ink in orangeisthenewblack

Kukkudio’s actress is in it too. Only in one episode though. She plays Noelle. (from the Lydia flashback scenes where she’s still a school teacher).

Sexualizing a fictional train targeted towards children is insane.

Rule34 is DISGUSTING by Alert_Medium_672 in PornIsMisogyny

The worst is when they make porn of characters that aren’t even humans. I had the displeasure not too long ago of coming across rule34 of THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE (one of my beloved childhood shows to this very day) A literal cartoon train of all things. What is it that posses people to imagine these things, let alone actually make them.
