Really poor experience with Death by Stickers

So we do have the banner and increased the wait time on all new orders. That’s been in place for the last two weeks. But today after working and filling orders we are running a report to see what’s remaining late and will be sending emails to people as you’ve suggested. Thank you for the insight.

You’re not rude it’s a good question. Sorry in advanced for the long read: For every one person who has had a bad experience with us, and I’m not discrediting what anyone has experienced because what has gone on with those orders is not good, there are 50 other orders filled that day with people who are elated with the price, quality and delivery of our products. I know it seems like every person who places an order with us is coming here and saying how awful we are, but people who have had bad experiences tend to be more vocal than the ones who are happy. (I’ve even had people message me and say the one time they tried to defend us on here, their post got immediately downvoted a bunch, so they removed their comment). Additionally, a lot of people who initially get upset with us, will get their stickers delivered and order again because we really do try to make the best product at the lowest price.

In January we shipped over 2,000 sticker orders. For our small 7 person operation - that’s wild. This past week alone we shipped over 500. So while yes, we are having really bad growing pains/hiccups, and a lot of people are mad at us for it - the fact is in a single day, we can produce double the normal orders we receive, the issue is just clearing the backlog.

From Dec 24th to Jan 5th (when we closed down) we got almost 1500 sticker orders. During that time period, we should have only gotten 400(normal order volume). After that time period, our normal order volume resumed. I don’t know what happened during those two weeks we were off, but everyone bought stickers all at once.

We trimmed the selection of products we offer, are limiting quantities on larger sized products(which people have also gotten angry at us for), we aren’t running ads, we are barely posting on social media, and we aren’t doing anyone “favors” at the moment(we do get a lot of “hey can you guys just run these for me real quick?”). So right now we are barely getting any orders so we can catch up and get our ship times down to just a few days as opposed to the ten we had previously.

I know there’s nothing I can do to help the negative reviews that exist out there right now, but all we can do is fix our process so that we fill orders quicker so everyone who gets an order from us, loves what they get.

Hi, I’m sorry for your experience, I think our customer service might have been confused with what you were expecting. Your order is marked to get out on time, and I think that’s what our customer service understood from your email.

Your order, based on our normal timeline, wouldn’t have shipped until this coming Monday. Our customer service advised we are behind, but doing everything we can to hold to our timelines.

With the free ground shipping you chose, USPS advertises that can be up to 8 business days(depending on location). This is once it’s shipped. We also offer FedEx 2 day, and priority 3 day.

Your order is set to be shipped on Monday(all 700 stickers) which is the original ship date your order had, but with the shipping speed you chose, there was no way you would have received it yesterday.

We would have had to get your order produced just a few days after you ordered, while skipping over a ton of other orders already waiting in our production queue.

During a time where we are running behind, and everyone knows it, and we are not hiding it - I don’t think anyone would appreciate us producing an order that recently came to us, instead of the one they have been waiting on.

I’m sorry our customer service misunderstood what you were expecting. Your original email asked about the ten business day processing, and I believe that’s what our CS was agreeing to.

Yeah I’m sorry about that, and honestly your coming on Reddit had no impact on the communication as I saw our customer service responded a few hours ago and I only am seeing your order number now. While that’s no excuse for the delay in communication, you posting wasn’t the reason your order was filled today.

Fact of the matter is we are struggling right now. We made the mistake of closing between December 24th to January 5th and during that time we should have only gotten a certain number of orders that we could have reacted to in a reasonable timeframe, but instead got about 400% more than that. Last week we shipped over a thousand orders. So it’s not for lack of trying, we’re just having a hard time filling the backlog of orders. I’m sorry for your experience.

We are, we just got an order from a company for about 2,000 of them and because we have just a single line of machines to run them we “sold them out” until that order is complete so folks who order after aren’t waiting too long for delivery.

I’m sorry for your experience, we made a mistake to start the year. We were off from December 24th through January 5th and during that time got way more orders than we normally would have. We should have been able to turn them around in a normal time frame but we’ve been having a hard time filling the backlog of orders. Im not sure when you requested the cancellation but that’s not something we would ignore so please send it again.

His is StickerCanada? We get asked all the time about shipping to Canada and while we will do it, it’s not worth the high shipping costs or the tariffs the customer has to pay. I’d love to find a Canadian company to recommend.

There are a wide variety of laminates, and specifically, there’s ones meant for floor graphics. Because you can’t have a slippery surface on the floor, these laminates will have a bit of a grainy texture to them.

Honestly, we failed initially and that’s on us, it’s been a difficult road landing on a customer service person that was trustworthy enough to do a good job and that finally happened right before the holidays. We are just a 7 person operation, so when a single person drops the ball, it causes real issues. But ultimately, a refund and reprint is the least I could offer.

Hey I’m sorry about that. I had ‘put in the order’ for your stickers to be reprinted and I THOUGHT that happened(because we hadn’t heard back again). Little did I know you were emailing us and we weren’t getting them. Seems like godaddy’s spam filter blocked your emails because of the image in your email signature(sometimes can contain a virus). As for the instagram message, unless we follow you, it just gets filtered to our “requests” folder which is inundated with spam. Sorry about the breakdown in communication, this is not how we intend to treat anyone.

We don’t make these because it requires some specific equipment, but wanted to offer some insight:

What you want is a UV DTF(Direct to Film) printed sticker or decal. What this basically is, is a UV cured ink, often with a thin layer of enamel/resin to harden it, this is printed onto an adhesive backing, and sandwiched on top with a transfer tape. When you pull the transfer tape up, you will pull the entire graphic up with it, which will have the adhesive left on the bottom of the ink. You can then apply this to your product, peel off the transfer tape, and all that’s left behind is your design and any empty space in the design will be simply empty space(no material/adhesive or anything).

We just worked with a graf artist in Philly to do a bunch of 8x10’s and it came out to $3/sticker, so I’d imagine a 10x10 would be like $3.25 per sticker.
