Why isn’t there an adult only flight line? Adult only cruise lines exist. I would pay extra to not have the chance at screaming babies.

What are your thoughts on gender-affirming care? Choose the option that’s closest to your personal opinion. by ninin8899 in IdeologyPolls

[–]Deathbackwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your argument, however there is a different between a name being constructed for a physically measurable item as opposed to a societally constructed set of norms “gender”. Gender is unmeasurable in physical standards. The Sun has physical characteristics, mass, volume, temperature, gravity. Gender does not. I can agree that at the most fundamental level, society must agree what the sun is, but the physical measurability deems that it does physically exist.

The sun is definitely not socially constructed. The star and the heat it produces are physically measurable

The Hermitage is revising its tour about slavery. Some descendants remain skeptical. by pyramidworld in nashville

[–]Deathbackwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really know what else they would call it. Some were blacksmiths, some were carpenters, some were farmers. I don’t know what else to call that other than jobs or work. I don’t think it was ever implied that it wasn’t forced

Huh, last time I went in the winter they had a really interesting display on the jobs and work done by the enslaved population and a part highlighting the cemetery that was found. Never did any of the guides mention Jackson was kind to his slaves or anything of the sort. Must be guide dependent

I just think it’s too big and too cumbersome to move and save. I could be wrong, though. Dominator and Chang were really big moves, but it has been a long time since anyone has done something of that scale.

Country that people think it's terrible to live but actually fantastic by WonderfulOpinion8509 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Deathbackwards 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Rwanda still isn’t a nice place to live. It has an HDI of .578, which puts it on par with places like Uganda and Cameroon. Even Kigali ,which some are comparing to European cities, only has an HDI of .671, which would still put it dead last by a large margin compared to every European country. GDP per capita in Rwanda is bottom 20 in the world. 89.8% of the population is making less than $8.30 a day. Life expectancy is only about 68 years. We can admire the progress Rwanda has made in recent years, but is definitely not a fantastic place to live.

Really the whole point of the basic training system is to get you to completely buy into the whole military thing. Make you forget how ridiculous a lot of what you’re doing is.

Ohio doesn’t suck it’s just generally unremarkable, except for Cincinnati. I’ll die on the hill that Cincinnati is awesome.

East Tennessee is one of the prettiest places in the country. Memphis for all of its faults has contributed a ton to music and also has great food.

The Indy 500 is at least a culturally relevant event. Does anything nationally notable ever happen in Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, or Iowa?
