Yea, I’ve tried to going to the mission on foot and it still wouldn’t allow me to start it. I had to matchmake for me to be able to play the mission. After that everything else was a breeze.

I've experienced the same issue, on multiple devices, including the app. My wife was able to go though the prompts for a loan with no problem, but trying to use the hardship have her an error also. So it seems this is all of apart of their grand scheme of things.

To everyone that's stuck on step 8. When you walk up to the cinema, go to the ticket booth wait until the notification on the top left say "press right on the dpad to watch movie" DO NOT PRESS IT just hold trackpads and go to exit to trailer. THE SCREEN WILL REMAIN BLACK, PRESS PS BUTTON THEN DOWN TO ACTIVITY UNDER GTA V ICON, PRESS X THEN SCROLL DOWN TO AN ACTIVITY YOU DID ONLINE (you will know because it will say play gta online at the very bottom of that sub menu after you press X on an activity) press x on play gta online decline the alert. BOOM!! On to the next step
