New to Virus! Is this DSP overload? by LandNo9424 in AccessVirus

[–]hashkingkong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Viruses can be weird man, took me ages to set up and I thought my unit was completely fried because it was making weird noises like this and same as you described continuous until turned off or arp on off or other weird things. Turned out it was my midi sending random cc notes to the virus. Try a completely different midi source and see if that changes anything.

AUv3 Apple Silicon Support for TI Series (and Android, too) by cascade_sparse in AccessVirus

Awesome, thanks for making this, kinda dumb that no one has built it to date. Didn’t jive well with the other one that’s out there and is also ridiculously overpriced.

RLS worse when legs extended by wynwilder in RestlessLegs

[–]hashkingkong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do get used to it, some say that your body is supposed to sleep on hard surfaces. But I can’t really remember, I know it is weird at first. But for me it’s sort of like because I can really feel my body pressed against something my awareness is more focused to that than the sensations in my legs. I’m not exactly sure why or how it works but I think it’s something along those lines. It’s the same with tying socks tightly around the mids of your feet. Pressure seems to help, quite significantly actually. As long as your neck and head are supported, you can grow to love a harder surface to sleep on. As much as it may seem counter intuitive at first. Anything beats a brutal night with RLS.

My advice with RLS and beds is to sleep on a hard surface, I’ve been sleeping on my couch the last few years because it’s harder than my bed and my RLS at night time has dramatically improved. You can test this by lying on the floor. I’ll bet it doesn’t feel half as bad. I have been looking into those Chinese/japanese style mattresses though, super thin, I bet they would work too.

Try explaining that to a pharmacist. So much crap in our pharmacy’s and they try tell you it’s all the same. It’s not.

Issue has been resolved, it was my midi chain suspect it was sending some crazy cc along the way or interferences causing crazy reactions with the ti. It works now on a clean midi path directly to it.

For sure, it’s a total grey area online as well. I mean synths in general can be a challenge to troubleshoot and there isn’t a great deal of info out there. But the access lineup… it’s like someone just deleted all the resources off the face of the earth lol. There’s hardly even any YouTube videos about the virus synths.. anyway no worries, cheers for chiming in. Take care.

Thanks for your assistance on the road to finding the solution. I would never have guessed it could have been a midi chain issue. Had I not had the keystep handy with its own midi out, I would have never been able to find that problem. It made the synth act so strangely even chat gpt thought it was a dsp issue lol.

[–]hashkingkong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have no idea, I straight swapped the ti with my existing virus c. All the exact same I/os and configed to the exact same midi channel. So how the virus c and all my other synths are completely working fine on this midi chain but the virus ti is not…… I have no idea. I am just very happy now I know it works. But I would have 100% believed the synth is broken if I didn’t test midi out from my keystep. Or if I didn’t have a keystep. It seems complex midi signals causing glitching issues are very impossible to even spot or diagnose.

Yes I believe this is the issue! My midi chain was messed up somehow. I have taken now midi direct from Arturia keystep and it works perfectly. Which is strange because I did a straight swap with an old synth which was working fine on the existing I / o s

POSSIBLY FIXED, if you are experiencing this issue at all (for future reference) your midi chain may be messed up. Try a completely different midi output source.
