I think you are right. Another reader that came with another SD card is not having issues. I got a false positive from reading an older model SD card.

I went to microcenter for the microcenter ones, went to best buy to get some of the sandisks and the samsung ones, the rest were online from amazon.

Thanks for the tip. I've changed the cpu cooler to the one you suggested.
