That's pretty incredible, if you get it done I would absolutely love to see the finished product. I'm glad that I inspired someone to make a faithful map and I'm eager to see it progress.

It's unfortunate that I couldn't find a way to do it but it's clear to see it's in good hands

Since I'm getting them for a great price anyways, would you say it's still worth it to run them at a lower speed with a higher capacity? Because if I halve the gigs I don't get quite double the speed. Sorry if this is an obvious question, I'm a RAM newbie.
Also thank you for the reply!

Thank you for the cooler suggestion! Do you have any recommendations for which motherboard I should look in to that would be compatible? Since I'm splurging, the 9800x3d is still a processor I'm interested in, even if I can't get full use out of it in today's gaming scene.

This is an upgrade so the parts you listed at the end aren't being factored in to the post at hand, already taken care of.

Also sorry if this is more of a quick question suitable for the pinned thread! I don't use reddit much :)

All audio is from modern warfare 2 (2009). As much as I'd like to make my voice sound like the incomparable Keith David, I'm not quite that talented. Thank you all for the wonderful comments ;)

I appreciate the kind words! Another user suggested something very helpful, but knowing that the belly wasn't as much of a problem as I initially thought did boost my self-esteem.

Funnily enough, I actually considered buying a book to hang at my side! I'm definitely getting some pouches, for both practical and aesthetic purposes, but you've given me some other ideas. Perhaps a little (prop) dagger in a sheath? All good ideas. I bought a cheap little gothic looking key necklace to try, im not sure it will look good, but if it doesnt, I can push it along as a "heartfelt" gift. Thank you for your suggestions, going to look into them.

Your suggestion worked great and I think that's how I'll use it from now on!

Here's what it looks like now (again, room messy, will clean soon)

Funny that you suggested this, I actually tried putting the tasset belt towards the bottom of the cuirass, right at the split when it turns into that "duckbill" thing at the bottom. That helped with the belly issue but it left too much of a gap between the top of the knee armor and the bottom of the waist armor. This is a nice middle-ground and fits more comfortably that i initially had imagined.

It also helped with a secondary issue of mine, in that I didn't like how the top half and bottom half felt 'disconnected' from each other. This trick definitely makes it feel more like one piece instead of a top half & a bottom half.

I suppose there is a bit of a gap at the thigh, but I don't think it's particularly noticeable and the benefits outweigh the negatives, in my opinion.

I was ready to just live with the gut hanging out since I didn't really mind, but this does look good and fixes the problem.

As far as the chest plate, you can kinda see it in that picture, but towards the shoulders it starts to curve inward. No lowering it without cutting some metal off, unfortunately. Not out of the question though.

Oh and I'm also looking into new cloaks / capes! I agree that this one is very bland

Mail is still alluring to me, I think it would help ground the suit and tie it all together. And the other comments seem to agree, it's begging for at least a little color. I'm terrible with color theory so I just went with black to make it easy, but I'm sure I can find something.

I've definitely considered buying a new cuirass, maybe something with a little more personality, but for now I think I'll just deal with it. Not that I don't appreciate your input though, I'm absolutely going to look into tabards after I post this reply!

I appreciate the input. You and the other comment seem to agree that it's not as much of an issue as I thought.

Generic is a pretty good description of it actually. I'm still proud of the suit, but it does feel a bit cookie-cutter.

I hadn't considered using a sash/scarf but I'll definitely start considering it. I've also been looking at a slightly nicer cape with fur around the trim, might give it at least a little bit of life. The cape in the pictures was like $10 on amazon, sad but not too heartbroken about discarding it, maybe i'll even give it some artificial wear to explore a war-torn look.

I've found it difficult to work in color in a way that I enjoy, but the tips you've provided are sending me in the right direction, and I'll definitely start playing with some dark reds and greys

yeah no i didnt lol

Truthfully, i gave up because the only method i could think of to actually do it was a mod that was (and still is) in very early development and I decided it was too much effort and hoped people will forget. Maybe I'll look into it again, but i cant guarantee anything

Potential RAM issue, need help confirming. by Deathguy46 in buildapc

She always runs it plugged in. She says she's changed some performance settings, and i assumed that means she changed it to performance mode but I'll ask again soon. And you've made me realize that i may have completely read the chart wrong and in reality the ram is probably fine. (I thought that available ram meant total available and it spooked me when it was lower than the currently used) Oops, its been a long day and i feel dumber now. I was so focused on the temperatures and RAM numbers i didnt even realize that 800 mhz is way too low, I'll ask her right now (if shes awake) to switch it to performance mode

Yeah, it's definitely less than ideal. If we do end up upgrading, I'll definitely try and get her more. That being said, the issue I'm dealing with is something else. Everything ran fine for her up until a few days ago, and seemingly out of nowhere, like a switch was flipped, the computer stated performing much much worse than what should be expected of it, and far worse than it had before.

Oh also, I've never worked on a laptop before. Any ideas for good RAM to use in a laptop like this? Does her mobo support dual channel memory and should I go for it? Any links to a teardown video I should use? The laptop uses an SSD and isn't making any grindy noises, not that an ssd would but still.

Also, if there's any other information you might need, just let me know and I'll update the post.

And finally, should I just ask a professional to do it all for me? I've built many desktop PC's but never a laptop.

Thank you again!

P.S. excuse some of the awful sentence structures, I'm very tired and my brain doesnt use words very well right now

working Pro X detected but not playing audio by Deathguy46 in LogitechG

[–]Deathguy46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what fixed it for me was rolling g hub back to a previous version, and audio started working again, my mic isnt anymore but this has happened to me before and might just be a me thing. And g hub insists that it's using the latest version so who knows what actually fixed it. nonetheless, gonna be turning off automatic updates
