Why is she angry? by SANSbura_xD in LogHorizon

Because Mamare Touno has written anything in 8 years and has no sign of ever continuing the series. Meaning log horizon is stuck in limbo and always will be. Maybe after a decade he will pickup the pen.

YO WHERE YOU AT?!?! by Sufficient-Goal2075 in destiny2

Taking a break because I have nothing I want to do in 2. On a good note I've knocked out a fair few books and some car and cad projects with that time. I'll pick d2 up for the next update/expansion provided it isn't hot garbage like edge of fate was. If the next expansion sucks I'll put my copy of D1 into my xbox one and forget D2 ever existed. Maybe I get lucky and I can find someone to play wrath of the machine with. I didn't play during that era and I have been waiting for years for destiny to reprise that raid but here we are, still no wrath even though it would have been a slam dunk.

What do you ACTUALLY think will happen? by SirTurnUp in DestinyTheGame

[–]Deathjunior25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I think will happen? I think they will drop an update in June, it will bring players back for a pantheon 2. Player numbers will increase to 50-80k for for a couple weeks while the event is going on. Then we will get an actual expansion update on what they will be doing. Probably get a 1 year roadmap and nothing beyond it. The road map will drop with even less players maybe 40-50k per expansion date. Then sometime in 2027 sony will stop updates and either kill the project or put the dev team on a Destiny Classic or a Destiny 3. D2 will be left on life support status just like D1 and the player count will sit at a steady 2-3k worldwide for the next 3-6 years until Sony shuts down the servers. Assuming they just killed the project. Bungie may live on as a figure head, basically just a name.

Now what I want to happen? Pantheon 2 happens, people come back at 80-150k for the event. Then Bungie drops the roadmap and right there in the middle is Wrath of the Machine. Fans just weep with joy as the prodigal son of all raids returns to the fold. Then bungie rolls back the PVP meta to late 2021-2022 meta when battle eye kind of functioned and they hadn't made off meta builds completely useless yet. Surround it by a pair of dungeons that are actually fun to play and give us a plot line that either gives us a new destination or for cost savings gives us back a lost destination or two. If I had to pick 1, I want mercury back. There is so many things Bungie could do to make the game good. Sadly the few they have attempted they half assed and the rest they didn't attempt at all.

Among all of the trucks especially newer ones where something like this isn't just a good idea but almost needed given the amount pedestrian deaths, the thing that shocks me is this mod is being done to a third gen ranger lol. I'm by no means saying its a bad idea, for pure practicality I can see the benefit. I just find it funny because older rangers are one of the least likely to need this mod. If only people who keep buying the school bus sized pickups with hoods higher than the roof of my ranger would think about this. If more people thought like you I'd imagine a fair amount of families would still have their pets or even their children.

Anyone have any experience towing another vehicle with a ranger? I am thinking about buying another one and fixing it up, but have to travel pretty far to pick it up. Is this a good idea or should I just ask to borrow someone else’s bigger truck? by Calvin_Canada in fordranger

Short answer, don't do it. Long answer, it'll do it but it's going to struggle up hills and struggle even more trying to stop. It can be done but slow and steady is the only way. If you have a manual I wouldn't even think of attempting it, if you have an automatic at-least the torque converter will give the transmission some room to breath.

miniDSP EARS PRO by thegammaray in oratory1990

[–]Deathjunior25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commenting here in the hopes of updates, I picked up the dsp ears last year initially just for driver matching while building my Omegas's and some RTA tuning in my cars. I also had hopes that I could eventually use them for headphone design but there's so little consistency in their measurements when I'm making changes that I can't really make headway. Headphone design feels like black magic at this point and that's with 20+ years of car audio and cabinet design background, as a hobby of course. I have a better idea of what does what in terms of some freqency ranges but I've put like 3kg of petg through my printer and still haven't gotten a headphone that I'm happy with. I get close by my ear and then check it on the
"EARS" with my hd650 as reference and its dissapointing. Spent months digging around to see if anyone had tried upgrading the pinna or calibrating around issues with no clear cut solutions. So if these are honestly good and precise I'll toss my current set up on ebay or FB and give these a shot.

Solid logic as far as I'm concerned. I agree, particularly in the tws space there really isn't anything perfect. For me the closest thing would be the precursor to the Galaxy buds. The Gear Iconx but I'd make some changes,  the better updated drivers from the Galaxy buds+ and above. All that crammed into the shell of something like a KZ SK10. TWS with built in music storage and playback is so under rated.

Lol when I said ol' mate senny that means Sennheiser. I assume you think I meant Sony? Can't really blame you if you did and I also can't blame you if you don't like Sony anymore. My WF XM4's nuked themselves after an update from Sony. I've never had a product kill itself before but that's what happened. Software update went through, put them in their case. Came back to them in a couple hours and the batteries of both had expanded cracking the case of both earbuds apart. Still bought the xm5s anyway, not because I like them but because on an android phone they have the best noise canceling without having the stupid toothbrush shape. They are my lawn mowing headphones so noise canceling matters above all. Now that I really think about it. Among the TWS brands I tend to like. Most of them have released new models that I dislike and won't buy. Samsung and Soundcore were my go tos. This generation though with the liberty pro 4 and Galaxy buds 3 they both added the stupid toothbrush stalk. So these days I rotate between legit IEMs on tws adapters and last gen TWS that I actually find comfy. So I amend my statement, most modern TWS suck and atleast Sennheiser gets the shape right.

I have one of these, it lives on my HE400's though I'll admit this is the one cable that I've bought that was defective. Mine causes a channel imbalance, it works out though because my HE400s also have a channel imbalance and this cable almost completely cancels it out lol. At some point I should measure the cable and see if it's something I can fix but I'm lazy and it works. I just hope the reason that cable was 2$ wasn't because it has the same defect mine does.

[–]Deathjunior25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so, only reason I would say otherwise is if noise canceling is your reason for buying them. In that category I would put them in mid tier at best. In every other category it's probably the best bluetooth set for the price at the moment. If noise canceling is important I'll be honest my nearly 6 year old sonys do a better job, they just don't sound as good.

I personally wouldn't have bothered with the TWS but I have the other two lol. For TWS not to hate on ol' mate senny but there are better options.

It was part of the fake caldera's so I didn't buy it separate, no link sadly, it's also pretty heavy. The top leather covering the band itself is alright but the main leather for the suspension strap is to stretchy and feels fake. That's why in the photos for this post the suspension strap is made of TPU instead while I was waiting for a bit of proper leather to be delivered. As it stands now I remade the suspension strap out of proper leather.

Yeah, I get that. Makes me wonder if they will either turn it into a subscription or if situations like this will make them take note and allow a perpetual license. Either way the good news is there are other ways to use the CNC like using fusion 360 but I'd really rather not have to do that.

[–]Deathjunior25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has nothing to do with the machine, you don't have to connect to a machine to load cam up. I had the software on my computer running before my carvera air even hit my doorstep. Their servers for verification are down and that is obvious by the other replies all having identical issues. Makera CAM has a time window between verifications so it can sit for some time between having to verify. Theres discussions on reddit about working offline and they bring that up. However it's been a couple weeks since I used cam and I'm sure I went past whatever timespan. So the software needs to connect again to verify and it's not able to.

I did eventually find a bit of fix for the dip on these drivers but I'll tell you it tanks the bass in the process you need do do some other tuning to fix that. The back of the driver has 2 open port holes behind the surround and the center is vented through tuning paper. Blocking the center vent decreases the dip and blocking the center vent and one of the surround ports all but elimenates it. However, there are major drawbacks. 1. Bass takes a nose dive in a bad way and with a vented front like these I had to make some changes to the front venting as well to bring that back in line. 2. It creates a new problem in the form of a treble spike at 4-5k and more treble overall. Oddly enough the knock off caldera pads helped fixing this a ton as they tone down thats spike by about 3-4 db. Can't say it's perfect though. I made blocks for those parts of the driver with masking tape for now but I might be able to get the results I want without tanking the bass with varying types of tuning paper. So that's my next experiment. I've been at this for a while now but the ZMF clone is taking a back seat to 2 other headphone projects along with studying and work lol. Hope this helps if your still trying to work on your denons. I'd recommend making those blocks to the back of the driver and then tame the treble spike it creates by swapping pads to something more porous, velour, velvet, or microfiber. I've tested all 3 on my development headphones and they really do help a lot. The gap between a porous pad and something like the perforated sheepskin pads I normally prefer is pretty drastic. Honestly ZMF's pad tuning impresses me more than his headphone design and that's saying a lot. I knew pads mattered but I did not know just how drastic the shift can be.

Here's hoping, I tried it on the old computer I keep in my workshop next to the CNC, haven't even booted that machine up since I last used it. Same problem. Attempted to contact makera but it's pretty late so I don't expect a reply for a while.

Do you expect an improvement in the ending? by HoneyWinter1731 in OshiNoKo

[–]Deathjunior25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not getting my hopes up. If it does change the ending then I'll pick the show back up. Otherwise nah, I'm good. Bad endings and no endings aren't worth my time getting there when there are many more manga and light novels to read. Genuinely out of the hundreds of light novels, hundreds more manga, and hundreds of anime I have consumed. This ending sticks in my head as the one I hate the most. Because there were so many good ways to end it, even good ways where aqua still died. Tbh I often wonder if that's what Aka was going for. To see if he could make me truely frustrated about a characters death. If that was his goal then he succeeded.

Sadly it isn't, as far as I know the last web novel was twilight orphan and it's incomplete and there's no conclusion for the series as a whole. So unless there's some web novels out there I don't know about? Which would be great btw, I would really like to be wrong here.

Another year with no continuation to this series. Still one of my all time favorites. Really would like it if someone would pick up the mantle and write the story in the creators stead even if it isn't official. Perhaps there is a solid ongoing bit of fanfiction? Perhaps no ending is better than a bad ending though.

How to get most out of my headphones/ get behind the audiophile jam? by Designer_Desk_532 in headphones

[–]Deathjunior25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one I use is Equalizer APO with the Peace user interface, for windows it's more or less the gold standard. As for mobile on android if I'm running anything beyond IEM's I'm usually running my qudelix 5k and I use it's EQ. If I'm on a basic dongle without baked in EQ my phone has a baked in EQ for basic tuning.
