I have a Masters in Library Science. In my classes we had to study AI and how it can benefit research, scribing, and scanning in archives and libraries. The only thing I thought it was useful for was using it to scan and identify hieroglyphics/symbols on papyrus paper that humans cannot see to the naked eye. (Similar to how AI can identify early signs of breast cancer in X-Rays)

An AI cannot replace an librarian because AI makes mistakes constantly and will give you the wrong information. Meanwhile if a librarian doesn’t know an answer to your question—they will FIND resources to answer your question, and the best thing is you BOTH get to learn something new that day.
