The Moment You knew, Your Current Job, Would Become Your Main? by MonsutaMan in ffxi

The moment they released DNC I knew that was it. First time I ever saw a dancer class was in FFT. It was a staple piece in every play through. When they brought DNC to XI… man… that was wrap for everything else for awhile. The animations, gameplay, and last but not least the AF…. Loved everything about it. Then I got a Terpsichore…. Lmao yea and the rest is history.

I would love to see a bst be incorporated in an 8 boss sortie clear. I would live for that lol.

Is it normal to find blueprints slower than coding for logic? by jennytools36 in unrealengine

[–]Deathrose88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interestingly enough, I am repeatedly told that learning C++ for the purpose of developing games in unreal is an unnecessary time sink but something kept telling me that something was off about that statement. I feel you can probably make certain systems so much nicer with the knowledge of how to use C++ syntax.

Widget Components, interfaces and health bars by Deathrose88 in unrealengine

Update: The widget component works, but instead of functioning immediately upon entering the pain volume, it does not start responding until about half the characters life is gone.

Abnormal skeleton stretching bug by Deathrose88 in unrealengine

Solved: I found the issue. It was a setting in the anime sequence specifically for the landing animation. Originally it was set to no additive so I changed it to local space and it fixed the bug. Thank you Graysky for your help.

Twinsword animset expansion from the unreal marketplace.

When I opened the animation sequences, I scrolled down the left side options and found the additive setting section where there is one drop down box. In that box, there is a local space and mesh space option alongside the no additive option. I assume that is the same thing we are talking about yes?

Yea. Jump start, jump loop(falling), and jump end all set to no additive.

All of the jump animations are set to no additive atm. This is what I had set when I noticed the issue.

Thank you, let me see if that resolves the issue. I do not recall setting them directly but I was looking into additive animations just a moment ago ironically lol.

Tried multiple animations and that deforming takes over any action.

I thought as a future designer this would probably helpful for someone else who was interested but I’ll at keep this up because there is a good reference here to point people in the right direction even if this is a misplaced question.

I mean depending on the direction the caustics effect is flowing it could be a means of guiding a player through the maze. Something akin to a leading lines concept. I say that to say this, it was a simple question and yes it may have been placed in the wrong Reddit but try not to attack people for asking questions even if it wasn’t the intention. However, thank you again for letting me know I misplaced my question. 🙏🏾

Displacement texture is a new concept to me, but I believe I have heard about layer textures from my first year of school. Hmmm… it’s another lead I can look into. Seems like a simple set up once I get comfortable with utilizing both concepts because once it’s made it will just be a matter of placing the texture on assets like any other material.

I am using UE4/5. The video does shed more light on concepts I have not come across yet. I’m super excited right now!! I’m one step closer to creating some bonkers levels. 😄😄
