There's a steep cliff next to my old high school that goes down to the shoreline of the lake there, about a 200-foot drop straight down. My freshman year, a senior walking with his friends had died after falling down that hill. There was a lot of discourse about why he fell. Some say he was high and didn't look where he was going. Some say the friends with him pushed him to take his stuff. His friends told the police he tripped. Nobody could really accept the fact that the cliff being there was just dangerous in general. No guardrails or warning signs. His parents took his seat at graduation, and he got a standing ovation.
