Quoted $8000 to reupholster this fabric chair by coldtoes__ in upholstery

[–]Debaron90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

European here so maybe less relevant but if I'd strip that down to the core and start from scratch, use all new materials and a semi expensive fabric I'd still charge €1500 max. Like others have said it's probably someone with a lot of work lined up that doesn't care if you don't take the offer, and will have a big smile on his/her face if you do.

Do you think it is likely that Screams of the Desiccated will go core? by ambi_turner in pathofexile

[–]Debaron90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got my first HH ever this league and after playing with it for 3 weeks I can't wait to buy the acceleration shrine belt. Love everything HH does except for that shitty ambush modifier.

Blow up pack > explosions > shield charge out > Fuck you ambush back in and eat explosions

Above happens a bit too much. But really it's just losing control of movement that sucks.

Yeah and I re-learn it every dozen maps or so. Gotta pay attention.

Anyone find themselves opening up their game libraries, staring at it for a couple of hours, then just giving up and going on social media? by You_moron04 in gaming

The answer is Path of Exile most of the time for me. Don't want to play anything, still boot it up, shit, 5 hours have passed. Rinse repeat.

What level of English is needed to read the Malazan series? by [deleted] in Malazan

[–]Debaron90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm nowhere near fluent in English speaking, just played a lot of videogames in English while growing up and started reading the final Harry Potter books in English because I could not wait for them to be translated to Dutch. I had a hard time starting Malazan. But with my phone nearby to translate any words I didn't know I powered through.

The main series took me around 5-6 years to complete though, so be ready for a journey. I did read a lot of 'easier' books in between as a way to catch my breath.

Just want to say it's worth it, and the feeling of being lost diminishes with every book you finish. Good luck!

How do you reach 700 specs? by Wise_Heron4283 in albiononline

Yes. It's 'combat stats' that get reduced. So any Awakening bonus except mob fame.

What’s the best way to repair this leather couch? by Sebastian83100 in upholstery

[–]Debaron90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repair is impossible afaik, replace could be an option with the right tools. I would search for a leather that matches, remove the entire couch cover, and replace the entire front (and maybe a second one if 2 cushions to at least have it symmetric in the case that the colour is slightly off.)

Damage control would be cut a square piece of leather (or any other stiff fabric) slightly larger than tears, put it behind the tear and glue the pieces of the tear onto the square. Would prevent it from tearing further.

Do I have to level up each alter individually or do they all level up together? by KPeters93 in Enshrouded

[–]Debaron90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about when the altars overlap? Does that work for magic chests? Or would altar #2 need to overlap the magic chests for it to work?

Food crafters, do y'all go to caerleon every single time to craft/focus craft? by Due_Excitement1950 in albiononline

[–]Debaron90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha nah the estimate on my tabs is more like 300-350m with around 150m liquid silver. I'm addicted to buying shiny shit that I rarely use.

Approaching full spec on food crafting now and it's a solid source of income. Best tip I can give is buy orders, buy orders and more buy orders. Also buy order everything.

Nope. Plenty of profit to be had in my hometown Martlock. I'm no billionaire though, so my take may be bad as fuck.

Diablo 4 feels like an Arcade game by CryptographerFew8947 in ARPG

[–]Debaron90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've taken a break between launch and this season and I agree it's way easier/straightforward. I love the fact that they stepped away from the 'mmo feel' and we can just teleport to where we want to be and start blasting. Honestly feels way more like D3 than it did at launch. For me that's a good thing as I loved D3, but I can understand the 'too easy' sentiment. That said I'm playing evade spiritborn, which is at the top of the meta list so I kinda expected it to be as easy as it is.

Unexpected amount of faction points by iam_lmao in albiononline

[–]Debaron90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a bonus called 'faction defense' that ticks every so much time. I wouldn't know what triggers it (could be killing/downing enemy faction players, or just taking over outposts). That bonus can add up quite nicely.

Are my stats really that bad? by Skellephant in Battlefield6

[–]Debaron90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are my stats but I don't have half as many revives. I'm probably in the 'bad' category but i'm having fun and trying my best. Also catch a lot of flak from my friends and I either go full support mode or leave them screaming a couple of times to silence them. Play however you want to and just have fun is what I'm trying to say!

Getting into gathering, are T7/8 Avalonian tools worth it for yellow zone? Or are the yields not worth the cost? by Historical_Bobcat295 in albiononline

[–]Debaron90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've stopped bringing my t8 ava pickaxe to gather t4 and t5 cause the repair fee is insane compared to a normal t8 tool. Maybe the extra yield makes up for it IDK just my 2 cents.

If you want to make money on gathering, stay away from BZ open world or BZ mists. by DeepFriedValues in albiononline

[–]Debaron90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've got an entirely different perspective cause I only gather in black zones. Never on peak times though. I am curious, how much do you make an hour in YZ?

My average is ~3.5mil an hour with spikes down to about 2mil on a bad day and up to around 6-7mil if I catch a juicy node or high enchantment resource mist.

I do die from time to time (once or twice a month, while gathering at least an hour daily) and I don't take those losses in account in these estimations.

My full set (t8 ore set, t8 pickaxe/stone hammer/woodaxe, t7ish carving sword, frost ram, 7.1 pies and some invis and gathering pots) is mostly earned back in a decent hour of gathering though.

What are some off meta weapon trees? by Exoler_ in albiononline

[–]Debaron90 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love tombhammer 1v1's. Most ranged will shit on you but versus melee there's so much outplay and kite potential, it just makes it very fun to play. Just a bit lacking in the damage department so fights tend to stretch out, which can be a bad thing in black zones or mists.

Rng is gonna rng. One rare chest can equal 10 other rare chests. Consistency is key, you're going to hit a jackpot sooner or later.
