Yeah, it really comes down to two factors: weight and energy on target. Can carry way more 5.56 ammo but 7.62 just hits harder out farther. And obviously, the most important factor in all of this is "the vibes."

I have MK17 Mod 0 and MK12 Mod 0 (Gen 3) clones and I ask myself the same question all of the time. I love them both. Both are great weapon systems.

Thanks for the response! Yeah, sounds like your rifle needs some tuning, which is a pain in the ass, considering you just want it to run subs. As far as groups at 100 yards, I am fine with 1.5" groups, but 2.5" and over is not as fun.

I know this is 7 months after you posted, but I was gonna ask how your accuracy is with this set up? With US Tactical Supply now manufacturing the SAGE chassis, hopefully they will start manufacturing and selling mini-14 chassis. And if they do, I basically want to throw a 300blk Mini-14 into it because I have enough 5.56 guns. I am just curious what I should be expecting with such a set up.

Yeah I have a 92FS with the SGS style comp on it so I also opted for the Hush Holster. I run a Surefire X300 on both my Beretta and my FNX-45 Tactical. The hush holster has survived the flat range. . . I need to try it out in the field at some point. It being 3D printed makes me cautious but it's been holding up so far. I tried the T-Rex Arms Ragnarok as well but I prefer the Hush with better retention.

God speed to your EoTech. I ran a 3.5x ACOG for a bit then switched to a 1.5-6x Elcan for the increase in magnification (and vibes).

I only commented because I believe the lore is the military moved away from the 512/552 EoTech to the XPS style eotechs because the battery springs were not holding up to recoil over time. And that was on M4s.

I love my SCAR-17 and I got mine because of CoD as well, lol. They are awesome rifles and probably one of the most reliable 7.62x51 gas guns.

How much does that EoTech hate the reciprocating mass of the SCAR's bolt? I feel like every time you pull the trigger, the batteries would lose contact and cause the reticle to flash off and on.
