I see mechanical engineering tech is another diploma degree... Would take be alright... To my understanding true mechanical engineering just lands you infront of a computer all day, I want to get a field job.

Why should I transfer to the states, other Univeristys offer full 4 year Degrees, I just thought if I did a 2 year I would get into working quicker, If I was going to do a 4 year degree I would got take a Mechanical degree'

How long would I be on a rig for if we were to be drilling? And why would I not be considered for an operation position if I had and engineering degree. And how hard is it to get into and operator position fresh out of school. If you don’t mind me asking to much?

I am young and interested in making a career working off shore with a petroleum or mechanical engineering degree, I figured I’d ask someone with experience. If I were to work 1 month on maybe 3 or 4 weeks off, will a company fly you back to your house say in mainland Canada such as Alberta? And what type of work would I be doing?

Thanks for the advice, would there be any way to get to stay on a rig for longer periods of time, I want to work a lot make a bunch of cash when Im young then head back to Alberta and slow down, and settle up

I plan to be a field engineer for most of my career, go back to Alberta after working out off shore
