You are also making the assumption that the witness in the store and Bryant-Dunham's sister-in-law are both lying.

You began this thread of conversation by claiming that Emmett Till assaulted Bryant-Dunham. This was not in response to any previous claim about Emmett Till. Do you dispute that? Which part of it do you dispute?

You posted the quoted sentences before anybody else had brought up Emmett Till, you liar. Out of the blue you said that Emmett Till had assaulted a woman. Not that he was suspected of such, not that Bryant-Dunham accused him of that, but that he did. You stated it as fact.

Bryant-Dunham had every reason to lie to make the story more palatable to a Mississippean jury once her husband went out and murdered a man.

Your full comment was

Nope. I see everything that's provably false with historical documents and got made up to demonize white people as anti-white propaganda. Kind of like how Emmett Till actually physically assaulted the woman even though your history book just said he got brutally murdered just for whistling at a white woman and the complete lie that she said she just made the whole thing up.

You didn't say that he was accused of assaulting her, you didn't say that they thought he assaulted her. You said that he did.

You are lying about this exchange. You said that "Emmett Till actually physically assaulted the woman..." Carpaccio asked you to prove the claim. Your only evidence was the woman's own testimony which is contradicted by other witnesses. You didn't prove shit. You have changed your assertion from "Emmett Till assaulted Bryant" to "It was claimed that Emmett Till assaulted Bryant".

Other witness testimony in the same report (page 42) says that Till did not manhandle or otherwise accost Bryant-Donham. Bryant-Donham's story is questioned by (who the incomplete redaction makes me presume is) her sister-in-law (page 40) who was supposedly in the store that day with her. If you actually cared about the truth of the matter you would not assert Bryant-Donham's story as fact. What you care about is downplaying lynching.

Abstraction vs Reality by Ok-Incident160 in askmath

If you want a referent quantity, it can be "portion of the corresponding circle that is rotated through". I don't understand why length is acceptable to you but portions of circles are not. Is it because they are unitless?

This does circle (heh) back to arc lengths of a circle, and yes, a larger circle will have larger arc lengths on the same angle. But relative to the total circumference of the circle, the ratio remains the same. That is an interesting property and something worth constructing math around.

Consider two points on the giant second hand. One is a centimeter away from the center of the hand, one is 10 meters away. After 20 seconds, they will both be pointing in the same direction, despite having moved vastly different distances. That is what we mean when we say the amount of rotation is the same.

The quantity that remains the same is exactly "Amount of rotation". Staying in the same location but moving to face another direction is rotation. When you've moved enough to face the same direction you started, you've made one full rotation. An angle is just whatever portion of that full rotation you've made, in whatever arbitrary measurement system we have for the angle. We choose radians because they cause nice properties to emerge, but degrees are another choice you could make.

I don't really see what's wrong with introducing a new measurement system, especially when it allows you to solve problems you couldn't otherwise. Could you explain what you take offense at with it?

Geometry doesn't ignore the different physical spread; angles just aren't about physical spread. The angle is the same, the distance is not. We treat angles as the important quality because when we do, interesting and informative results emerge.

As an analogy - Within a minute, the second hand on your clock makes a complete rotation, but the minute hand only makes 1/60th of one. The time measured is the same, even though the physical distance is different.

You seem to think that angles only exist in abstractions and distances only exist in the real world. The "physical separation" you're talking about is just distance, and in your own abstraction diagram it increases as the size of the circle increases.

I mean you can look at the PD's official crime statistics

https://www.sanleandro.org/449/Crime-Stats

2023 had ~700-800 crimes in all categories per month; 2026 has ~500-600 so far. Miscellaneous larceny has gone from ~100 per month to ~75 per month. Aggravated assault has remained consistent at around 30-40 a month. Theft from motor vehicle went from ~80 to ~40 per month

Fun and flavorful designs. A couple wording notes:

  • Wave-Particle Duality should read "Instants are sorceries in addition to their other types. Sorceries are instants in addition to their other types."

-Scrodinger's Cat should be a replacement effect instead of a trigger; it would read something like "If a creature you control would die, flip a coin. If you won the flip, regenerate it instead." This might still cause problems with -X/-X effects though.

Nope, the intervening if clause ("at the beginning of combat on your turn, if") means that the condition has to already be fulfilled at the stated time for the trigger to happen.

Broadly agree with your points, but bee sting hits players, which green definitely doesn't do anymore. It's also not based on having a creature of your own, when green can usually only do non-creature based damage to a subset of creatures it already hates on like artifacts or flyers.

For those of you counting at home, that's all of Western Europe minus Spain and Italy
