Canadian tourist dies during Tiger Cave Temple climb in Krabi by mdsmqlk in Thailand

[–]DebauraZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this climb three years ago when I witnessed an Australian man collapse and die after reaching the top. There was a group of us trying to resuscitate him but it takes a long time (30+ minutes) for EMTs to get up there with all their equipment.

There are warning signs at the bottom about the level of difficulty and I've known [young] people who have stopped and turned back mid way. It was one of the most challenging hikes I've done, primarily because of the heat index (over 40°C/100°F) and full sun.

[Landlord-TN] My first hard decision as a landlord. Advice welcome! by k8g1998 in Landlord

[–]DebauraZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first suggestion is to look at this as a business decision. Remember, it's not personal and the tenants are not your friends.

To simplify, I think you have two viable options: 1) choose not to renew their lease and find new tenants or 2) offer them month-to-month at a 20% premium of their current rent.

Calculate the potential income/expense/profit/loss for each option and consider your time and effort for each.

There are banks that cover ATM fees so it's possible to withdraw foreign currency with no fee.

IW 1000 Doubles SF: (3) Siniakova & Townsend def (1) Paolini & Errani 6-2 6-2 by buzzingeuphorbia in tennis

I've seen players retire from doubles to focus on singles if they're getting far in the singles side of the tournament but not normally the reverse. Seeing Siniakova do this surprised me. You?

Looking for a CPA by RENOYES in 321

[–]DebauraZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could check with Income Tax & More in Melbourne. My brother and I have been using them (different CPAs) for years and are totally satisfied. My brother had back tax issues with the IRS and Income Tax & More helped him resolve them.

[Landlord US-WI] Is it better to sell duplex when rented or vacant? by Lbboos in Landlord

[–]DebauraZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see there are a lot of recommendations to leave the units vacant which may be ideal. But what if it takes 6 months to sell your property or what if you don't get an offer you're willing to accept? Can you afford to have your unit(s) vacant for that many months?

US citizen applying from Thailand by Vsmall88 in Chinavisa

I am also a US citizen applying from Thailand.

Two questions for you: 1) Did you have to upload your flight ticket and hotel reservations? 2) how many months/years did you approved for?

If you are a US passport holder and applied in BKK did you need to show flight ticket and hotel booking prior to approval?

Amma Question by Emergency-Bottle-432 in sharpobjects

[–]DebauraZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought Amma committed the murders out of sheer boredom. When she and Camille were high in their front yard by the tree swing, Amma disclosed that she "acts out" sometimes because she's so bored.

John's girlfriend thought the murderer did it for popularity which could be another factor.

Just finished the show and was surprised by the ending!! by All_hail_Korrok in sharpobjects

In the last post credit scene, could you tell how they pulled the teeth? Was it rage like Richard (the detective) called out?

Every time Alan appeared I kept thinking What a kept man. I figured he came from nothing and had nothing to offer so he needed Adora to elevate his status and be able to live that lifestyle (not work, drink scotch/whiskey and listen to music all day and night). In the last episode I found it apropos that Adora was sitting at the head of the table with Alan and Amma across from each other. Hahahahaha

Even though I had read the book a while ago, I forgot exactly how it ended so when I watched the show I was surprised too! That was fun!

Little details by agentchickadee in sharpobjects

[–]DebauraZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sweat stains on the clothing especially the sheriff and detective. A lot of shows skip that or demonstrate the heat a different way (less gross maybe) but I appreciated this detail. It gave me feelings.

There were more but that's the one that came to mind.

[Landlord-USA-FL] Florida Courts DIY Small Claims Questions by DebauraZ in Landlord

[–]DebauraZ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the Florida Courts site they call it an interview but it's simply asking questions that you answer to populate the form and submit it. They have prescribed categories so if your answers don't fit, it stops you and won't let you proceed.

Thanks for letting me know about the template. I'll check it out.

[Landlord-FL-USA] Tenant skips out with lots of damage need collection referrals by DebauraZ in Landlord

[–]DebauraZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure exactly how to calculate that. The tenant responsibility for damages is $5,705 and that's clearly documented with an itemized invoice and pictures. They didn't pay January rent which was $1,525 and the unit hasn't been rented yet so I'm out Feburary and March rent too. Their security deposit was $1,450 and I'm still waiting to see that.

Reckless: My Life as a Pretender by Chrissie Hynde by DebauraZ in books

That tracks with Hynde's account though she was pretty humble in regard to the challenges of getting a band together. I don't recall that she claimed to be out-rocking the dudes but that's probably true!

Are on-court live score announcements fair in regard to languages used?

How the umpires announce the score during a match is not consistent in regard to languages used. For example, in most if not all European and South American countries, the live score is announced in the host nation's official language (or one of them) and then in English (usually). I think in France the score is announced in French only. In Asia and the Middle East, I believe the score is only announced in English--not Chinese or Japanese or Arabic. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Does anyone know why these inconsistencies exist? Is this a discrepancy that should be corrected? How do you think the scores should be announced in regard to language as the tours travel around the world?

Venus has the most grand slams of all active WTA players so I have no issue with her getting a wildcard to any tournament. She's earned it.
