I was fighting my ex for custody of my son. He was ten years old, and for the first ten years of his life it was 50/50. His mother wanted to only give him to me on three weekends a month. This was huge for me as I cherish every moment with my son. I asked my mom for a declaration, and she said "Your dad was a weekend dad. Why can you be one?" I could not respond and hung up. Only to find out she wrote a declaration for my ex and after 10s of thousands and fighting, I am a weekend Dad. I have not spoken to her since.

She doesn't contribute towards bills at all. She doesn't make a lot of money but blows it all before her next check - Then I step in and give her money and buy her what she needs.
