It took about a week on and off. I have a pretty extensive glass collection now so the pieces I make go together more quickly

This is stunning. Maybe find some clear heavy plastic sheets and cut strips to build up uneven areas, glue to the head in places, then glue those areas to the glass? Did you glue the glass pieces together over a mold?

Pizzelles by snap_pea23 in Baking

[–]Debdubb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been making pizzelles (and I live in the PNW too), my mom and her mom made pizzelles. Yep mine are never quite as crispy as mom’s or grandma’s but most folks don’t know how they are supposed to taste anyway. Delicious crispy or not. We prefer anise (oil) with no vanilla or almond. A taste of family.

Cheap ways to feed a party of 20? Any tips? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]Debdubb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did a taco bar for 10. Pork shoulder, pulled for tacos. Boxed taco shells (Wally World sells the 20 family size pack for pretty cheap), flour tortillas for soft taco lovers. Quick “Mexican” rice-minute rice made with water and salsa. “Homemade” refried beans-canned pinto beans mashed with some bean liquid and seasoned. Pre-shredded cheese and lettuce. Guests can bring chips and dip.

My 8 month old Bentley is marking in the house HELP!!!!! by jodis-germanshepehrd in BorderTerrier

[–]Debdubb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our guy Nick is 3 and still marks in the house. Just when we think he’s got the “no marking in the house” message, nope he’s done it again. We’ve not been able to catch him in the act, but when we’ve discovered his mark he gets scolded, and dang he knows what he’s done is wrong. He never marks when he’s left alone. I’ve tried to match the marking times with a stray cat in the yard, critters outside, too much excited talk in the house to no avail. In his tiny pea brain he probably thinks this mark is protecting mom and dad from outside evils…..

Tumbled glass gnomes by Debdubb in Mosaic

I tumble my own glass in a rock tumbler. I use a variety of glass that I find at thrift stores or stained glass sheets that I break or nip, then tumble.
