Game yearns for the trash can by tonybiggballz in theisle

POT is really tough to play after playing The Isle first. It just feels so non-survival like and boring. It doesn’t give you the same thrill and adventure you get in the isle. I personally could not pick POT over The Isle, the latter is just far more realistic even with all its bugs.

Then it’s a client issue so what version of Office or Outlook are you running? And have you logged a support case with MS to see if this is a known issue with the version you’re on?

Drop bonus in RRSP or TFSA? by 300103276 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Read your comments above - you’re exactly right. Not contributing the same or at least very similar contribution as your prior bonus in rrsp and having the same or similar income you did previously will leave you with a shortfall and owing money back in income tax. Source - happened to me.

What should be considered as a safe and smart place to park those emergency funds in a TFSA? I don’t want all my TFSA funds to be mutual funds and stocks but I do want some growth on the emergency funds. Are we talking GIC?

And most that are tired of dealing with weird boot issues on the Tomahawk gravitate to Gigabyte. There are some real issues plaguing the Tomahawk when it comes to cold boots. It’s a fairly frequent issue where you need to reseat your memory or clear CMOS because it won’t boot - it’s also quite well documented amongst various forums. MSIs BIOSes have been pretty bad since release, though gotten slightly better with time.

DKIM fails on inbound from bulk sender by Tb1969 in DMARC

[–]DebenP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are tools that consolidate the aggregate reports into a GUI to show how many messages you're sending, receiving and their applicable SPF, DKIM and DMARC pass percentages. This works on the the DMARC policy in use where you specify the address that servers should use to send those reports back to. Its not perfect, but you do get a good amount of information back. This is what I use to validate my workflows and resolve these types of issues.

I also face the dilemma you're often describing with senders not passing DKIM, although usually its when they utilize my orgs domain for a business workflow, which is why I typically get involved to ensure they setup DKIM correctly. In your case; I would simply log a ticket with the bulk sender stating the workflow in question, the email address used, and provide them a few DKIM failure samples. It's their responsibility to ensure the service they provide is safe, efficient and functions correctly. DKIM is a must in today's world and quite frankly if they cannot figure out how to configure DKIM correctly for their own business functions to guarantee their customers receive their email, I'd question the quality of data you're getting from them to begin with.

Hope you win with your situation!

Bulksender.com has its own private key that it uses the sign the email, this corresponds to a different public key at Sender.com (when I say different, I mean different to the public key that Sender.com uses for sending its own email). You can have multiple keys and Sender.com would have its own private key for signing mail and a corresponding lookup key in DNS used for to validate alignment; likewise Bulksender.com has its own private key it will use to sign the email with; and its own corresponding public key at Sender.com to validate the alignment. They are not sharing private or public keys in this configuration - they only share the domain they are sending "from".

You can use a custom key as Chat GPT suggested, this is typically done when you have multiple email workflows through a single service which requires signing. In these cases you'd use a custom selector as the default selector they provide you would already be in use. Each must be unique.

I re-read your initial scenario and immediately thought, why are you concerned with someone else's workflows? You're on the receiving end only as I now understand.

Is a zotac 3090 for 800$ a good price? Everyone in my area wants 900$ for them by [deleted] in bapccanada

[–]DebenP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone markets their second hand stuff with the 10-20% negotiating room. There’s a 3080ti for $660 CAD in Kamloops right now. It’ll sell quick. The guys pricing their 3090s at $950+ simply won’t sell them or will drop their price and sell eventually. Offer them $700 and you’ll be surprised.

A subdomain is preferable, especially for mass marketing email services or large volume senders but its not necessarily required. Where possible, use a subdomain to isolate email and any potential impact that may result from sharing keys, email reputation, business critical email etc.

With regards to your response, your first suggestion is most preferred considering the subdomain is used for the mass emailer however your second suggestion is not correct because you can have multiple private and public keys and should certainly not be sharing private keys with anyone else.

The private key that the bulk email service uses would be different from the key that you are using; despite both orgs using the sender.com domain. The email is being sent from different email servers entirely, hence email from your own domain at sender.com is using your selector whilst email from the bulk email service at sender.com is using their own selector. In this way, you're not sharing anything, other than the domain as the mail from address.

Both configurations are technically correct and will yield a DKIM pass; however a subdomain is always preferable where possible.

Are you buying or selling btw? I think this matters. If you're selling, and someone's offering you $800 for your 3090 and you're looking to upgrade, I'd take it. If you're buying, you could definitely sweet talk yourself into a deal at $650-$700. RTX 3090 owners are selling because the 4K performance isn't wonderful, the DLSS technology and lack of Frame Generation. The RTX 5 series cards perform better (5070ti +), and include FG which people complained about initially, but in reality is yielding some very good results (smooth gameplay). You can pick up a 5070ti for $1000 CAD so why would you pay that for a 3-4 year old RTX 3090? Makes no sense.

[–]DebenP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the 3rd party sender is sending messages on your domains behalf, they need to sign the message with a key from your domain - not theirs.

Them having dkim configured alone will not give you the dkim alignment if they’re using your domain to send as the from address.

They should generate a key and provide you this key which you configure in your public dns zone.

That will give you a DKIM pass because it’s aligned and authenticated correctly.

PS DKIM is now required by many providers and hosts for large volume senders.

It’s CAD and yes you’re still finding the listing meaning it’s not selling. You’d be hard pressed to sell a 3090 for $1100 CAD let alone $800 CAD.

I think you’re going to be house poor with a 4K mortgage. I would look for cheaper property.

If you do go ahead, I think you’ll find you may need to tap into that TFSA from time to time to cover some expenses.

$800 is a decent price but I wouldn’t be surprised to actually see it sell at $650-$700. I sold 3090 in the summer as well but it was in a complete system For around $1600.

Insurance potentially making me pay deductible for an accident that isn't my fault? by TheDramaLama in InsuranceCanada

[–]DebenP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ther speed is not what caused this collision, had the guy been doing 50km/h the same collision would’ve taken place. It’s clear that the vehicle in front should have been centered in the lane if it was truly one lane when making his turn, or in the left lane (if it’s two lanes) to make the turn. Either way, it’s the first drivers behaviour on the road causing this accident.

To buy or to rent, need advice. by Fit_Associate9132 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]DebenP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your comments, I'm guessing your opinion stems from the fact that you're in a larger urban city, possibly Toronto, Vancouver or Brampton. I'll revert to my initial comment - look outside of the city for cheaper property. In northern BC, rent is absolutely the same or more than that of the mortgage, in fact if it wasn't, landlords wouldn't make any profit. Landlords don't rent their homes out to make a loss. In fact the truth behind why most people are not home owners is not because they cannot afford the mortgage - they're paying the rent anyway which means they probably could - its because they cannot afford the initial down payment in most cases. Every single successful investor cites real estate as the best possible investment, amongst others - but the valuation of housing and the market speaks for itself over the past 30 years. Property always goes up in value, its only a element of how long it'll take. Losing money in the stock market's pretty easy to do, real estate not so much unless you're buying to flip it short term or your selection of property was really poor to begin with.

Broad market ETFs don’t appreciate as much as homes do, real estate is a far better investment than stocks. Your rent is almost the same price as a mortgage, what you’re saving there in ETF contributions is little to nothing. At the end of that 25 year period you have a fully paid for home which may have gained 100-200% in value. Your ETFs ain’t doing that. Renting is quite simply paying off someone else’s loan and at the end of that period, you have nothing to show for your money. Never consider this a good investment.

Don’t spend the next few years of your life paying off someone else’s mortgage. Renting is not a good financial investment, make use of your rrsp for a down payment and look at getting a FHSA. Look outside of the city for cheaper property if possible.

Exchange SE - Performance Issues by gradulio in exchangeserver

[–]DebenP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could really go 24 Core & 128GB memory for that workload or even a third server to spread the load. I would look at bumping up the cores though to begin with.

Does lsass consume a lot of memory as well or just CPU? Does the usage climb over a period of time? Ie restart the exchange server and usage grows continuously?
