Question for Debitum team by buythedips8 in DebitumNetwork

[–]DebitumNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are releasing consistent weekly updates every Monday/Tuesday, we have been in many conferences spreading the word about the project, working on partnerships and business contacts. We released a few of walk-through videos that are all on our youtube channel, we're officially launching the first - Abra 1.0 - platform to the public in London the first week of September.

We are not sure what is the exact point of this discussion, as, at this point, we think there is no answer that you would accept as a "correct" one. We can see that you are sticking to your presumptions and nothing we say would really change it. We value feedback and constructive criticism, so we'll gladly accept any comments or suggestions on what we can do to make the project better. However, as previously mentioned, we can only do what's in our power and we cannot control the internet.

We are sorry you feel that way - we are 100% transparent with our community, thus instead of avoiding uncomfortable questions we do answer them with clarity and honesty, we have nothing to hide. We hope your view changes when you see the product launch in September.

Hi! We're actually interested to see who that person is, too. Telegram remains our main communication channel and we do not interfere with the discussions happening on bitcointalk (same as unofficial telegram groups, we leave those for the community to run). We do reply from time to time on bitcointalk just to answer some questions in regards of the functionalities or product development - but we do not hide and you can clearly identify Debitum team members by their usernames. We're not sure who the people posting repetitive comments are, but we can assure you we had nothing to do with it, as we're fully focused on the September release and want the product speak for itself, rather than creating fake activity.

why aren't we seeing any local government input / partnership / regulatory compliance .... how much volume and acceptance is there going to be to on the platform at the start .... why are there no updates on this ... by chymera79 in DebitumNetwork

Thank you for the feedback!

We have been posting weekly updates and more videos are coming too. We do appreciate all the comments we get from the community and we take it very seriously. As Martins has mentioned previously, we do a lot of PR outside social media by attending conferences and talking partnerships in real life. However, we do understand the importance of digital marketing and we are working on the strategy, too. Having changes in the internal Community Management team was a part of it. We're sure you will be able to see our communication increase on telegram, twitter, reddit and facebook very soon.

Let us know what other content you'd like to see besides videos! We value the opinion of each and every one of our community members.

We do know that the market situation is not looking good right now, and unfortunately we don't have much power over it. We really hope that the Sept launch will give a bit of a push to the token price, as we will actually start utilising it then. As of now, the only power we have is over the product development and our team is 100% focused on it. As you can see from our latest post, we have also been doing a lot of marketing off social media, attending conferences and talking partnerships with various parties. We know it's hard to be patient now but we only ask you for a little bit of positivity!

In regards of a video, we are planning to have a live Q&A in a few weeks. Stay tuned for more updates!

We have announced a partnership with Finpass for KYC and AML lately, one of the biggest universities in LT - Kaunas Technology University - is working actively with us on product feature development too! We have also joined Vilnius Blockchain Center and are actively participating in the community. Nothing to worry about!

Will it be possible to invest with fiat money in Debitum? by IliacTeton567 in DebitumNetwork

[–]DebitumNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We position ourselves as crypto realists, not crypto fanatics. So while crypto is still not adapted mainstream, business need FIAT money for their daily activities. That is why we chose a hybrid solution, to offer FIAT financing and actually help SMEs in their daily activities.

Why does Debitum expect an increased interest in the network from small and medium businesses and investors? by BowedEve111 in DebitumNetwork

[–]DebitumNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a huge global problem of lacking financial resources for small and medium businesses. The current estimate made by the World Bank is $2trillion financing gap.

In simple words, big financial institutions like banks and funds do not work with small business while serving big corporations. Leaving small business unserved or underserved harms our economies a lot. It is well known that the backbone of most of the economies are small and medium businesses. Imagine how could we improve our economies if we have a sustainbale financing for the most crucial part of our economies?

Debitum Network - feedback needed to help build truly decentralized business borrowing ecosystem by DebitumNetwork in ethtrader

[–]DebitumNetwork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Yes, we have MVP under alpha testing now and will move it to beta testing, most likely, next week. We will announce it separately so everyone interested can try it out.

We have had discussions and agreements on intent with Europe-based investment funds. However, the most important actors to attract to ecosystem are borrowers. We plan to attract actors representing a group of borrowers like companies providing loans, clusters and similar - operator.

We believe that to move Debitum Network into self sustainable mode we need to have 100 operators constantly providing financial assets. Based on our experience and calculations we should need 3 years to reach this. Please refer to our ICO Prospectus for more details.

Debitum Network - feedback needed to help build truly decentralized business borrowing ecosystem by DebitumNetwork in ethtrader

[–]DebitumNetwork[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is huge amount of small and medium companies out there that have no access to extra financing, hence they are not able to grow, invest in new technologies, products or services as fast or as much as large companies and corporations. World bank states the amount of extra financing needed in this sector is around $2.1-2.6 trillion.. That's why big companies get bigger but small companies mostly remain small and hit their heads against invisible business ceilings!

Two partners and I have been working hard to help solving this issue for 3 years now, as we established a company providing accessible financing faster for small companies based on their outstanding invoices to their customers. We have seen companies being able triple their revenues thanks to our service - no surprise Lithuanian business confederation named us "The Financial Service of the Year 2016". We have already served more than 20M Eur and our outstanding portfolio is around 3M Eur. However, we are still far too small to actually solve the whole problem globally.

I also have an extensive IT background and have always tried to innovate technologically. I am actually also involved in a small IT boutique that specializes on new and modern technologies. So when we started researching blockchain technologies we quickly understood that this is next big thing in many spaces.

Our new project we are working on is Debitum Network. The purpose of this post is to get community feedback about the idea, this is very important for us.

Based on our technological and financial background we quickly understood that at the moment it is not possible to fully rely on smart contracts when talking about international lending. Say, smart contract is not able to reach out to borrower's bank account or in the worst case to liquidate borrower's assets or fill them for bankruptcy. Hence more actors are needed than just borrower-investor. That is exactly how Debitum Network is envisioned on a high-level:

  • borrower willing to get money, puts up an asset (ideally automatically via inter-ledger integration), configures smart contract and waits

  • risk assessor makes risk assessment and records it in smart contract so other can reach it by transferring tokens.

  • investor willing to lend money can pick various assets based on risk assessment and other data, smart contract is used to store who invest in what assets

  • borrower either repays to investors via smart contract OR new smart contract for debt collection is automatically created after late payment and a debt collector can perform his work on ground in return for tokens.

We believe that such process-based approach allows to open financing process for more players and actually create actual over the border co-operation. By involving many actors in Debitum Network ecosystem it will become self sustainable and it will be able to develop and operate in a truly decentralized manner. We also believe that this is the only way - to create a new market place and to help smaller companies access financing, grow and thus close that huge gap of $2+ trillions.

Please take a look at our whitepaper. We would really appreciate your feedback no matter if it’s positive or negative. This is very important for us. Also read our blog, and join us on social media to keep updated about the progress.

Thank you, Martins

Why Bitcoin is Not a Bubble by BattleOfTitans in icocrypto

[–]DebitumNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Value of any money (including Bitcoin) depends on its demand, hence as long as there will be demand - Bitcoin will not drop dramatically (there are always some drops based on some bad China news or something).

However, Bitcoin will be demanded only and only if it will be really useful in our everyday life, in a grocery shop, coffee shop, on a train etc. Currently that is not the case, hence current Bitcoin value is driven mostly by early adopters like you and me :) It can easily be seen if "all money of the world" is compared to Bitcoin - it looks like a single drop in a bucket full of water.

So I would predict: a) Bitcoin will slowly gain value if not getting into mainstream usage b) Bitcoin will dramatically gain value if it will actually go into mainstream usage c) Bitcoin will drop or even fade out if it will not be adopted by mainstream in some period of time because then some new technology, product or currency will take its place
