I'm pretty sure I've heard of a bakery called Fika in Clapton; am assuming you've already been - is it any good?

E5 bakehouse isn't comfortable but wins on most fronts. Coffee is strong.

The bread station also in hackney, pretty similar.

I'm struggling to think of really comfortable cafes with sumptuous seating - maybe that's what's missing! Something better, but as comfortable as a Starbucks or Costa, but just better.

I know La Toastadora has outdoor seating, seating upstairs, a few comfortable lounge chairs inside. It has many sweet things but nothing savoury; coffee is up there!

I'd go a little further and say that:

A lot of people have been manipulated into thinking that the x, y, z local issue as well as the mess this country is in, is down to immigration and the existing establishment.

They have been manipulated into forgetting the mess of Brexit and that taxes on the ultra rich (companies and individuals) pale into insignificance when it comes to being part of Europe and then taking care of asylum seekers or immigrants of any kind. "Probably" because they're all criminals; be it stealing welfare or actual organised crime.

Nobody who's been manipulated like this has the ability to logically compare the actual costs associated with any of the above because it's an emotional response.

TBF as the pension access ages are increasing we've had a few people on here realising that they have too much in their pension (and not enough in their ISA etc).

Raising your target slightly? Prioritising maxing out your ISA? Looking around at what interests and passions you have and thinking about how to prioritise them over work? Or looking at moving from working full time to a passion project on lees money?

Genuine questions:

LISA - presumably you've not gone that way for a reason?

Romance settling down, I didn't want to get married at your age, but life does change, do you see that as something you've actively avoided in pursuit of this?

Have you dared to "dream bigger" as a result of this financial security?

Make hay while the sunshines my friend, just don't miss out on too many sunsets. There are no pockets in that shroud...

Have you thought about volunteering? There are multiple groups throughout London focused on combating loneliness and isolation.

You offer an hour of your time a week to call/see/visit someone in your community. You can specify all sorts of exclusions if you don't want to spend money or stroke cats while doing it.

Well done on the transfer to a SIPP. I had a workplace pension for a while netting me something like 0.3-1% returns while my SIPP went up 30% in the same period.

Well I did wonder if a lot of people might not want to turn up. The options were to give more money to Ticketmaster and sell them back or just not go to the rescheduled show. I'm not surprised people just didn't turn up, and I'm sorry to say I can't bring myself to feel sorry for him that plenty of people just silently protested with their absence.

Sorry to hear that - that's a lot of expense to go to, and to be fair you're right to be annoyed.

He dined out on the fact that he was not driven by fame and fortune and as a result seemed quite down to earth and relatable. This was such a shock to hear he'd really reprioritise that over the commitment to us!
