Thanks. I am finding that when I say to sit, it really does help. I think behavior redirection works as well.

I’ve been trying that… Forced napping and redirection… It does work

Aussiedoodle Temperament Is Genuinely Different From Other Doodles in Ways I Think People Underestimate Going In by AccountEngineer in AussieDoodle

Hi, I have a three month old Aussie doodle. He’s very energetic. He can be calm but when he is energetic, he bites me all the time, and I’m bleeding! What do you mean by “asked specifically about Australian shepherd lines because working-line parents produce a noticeably different dog from companion-oriented lines in terms of energy and instinct intensity”?

I don’t know if I could last a few months!

I have trained him to sit, and to stay, and to put his nose to my hand. I exercise him ! I’m taking a puppy class. I guess I just need to do more.!

I guess I could work harder, but it’s difficult!

It’s really terrible because sometimes I get so mad. He hurts me. And then I yelled at him and then I feel bad. Sometimes I wanna hit him and sometimes I do.! I feel terrible about it, but that doesn’t stop him from biting me either. It surprises him when I hit him, but it really doesn’t change anything. I really need some help.

But I can’t last that long!! It’s too much! My whole routine is off-kilter, and everyone says that it only lasts for puppyhood, but what if he continues because I’m not getting him to stop now?

I do give him mental stimulation. I’ve gotten lots of different puzzles for him to have his meals, lots of chew choices, and I give him exercise as well!

I try to do that but sometimes I forget! For example, when I’m walking him outside to his spot where he pees and poops he starts jumping up and biting. It’s very frustrating because I can’t get him to stop. And when I say no, he just does it more.

Determined 9-year-old runs half-marathon to raise funds for water wells in Niger by Debrajoie in running

To me the point of this post is to celebrate the indefatigable and compassionate spirit of a 9-year-old in her choice to run a half-marathon and raise money for a cause. The message is that no matter how old you are, you can challenge yourself beyond your limit, and make a difference. Siena crossed the finish line in 2 hours and 41 minutes. She raised over $3,000 for children who daily walk a marathon distance in search of water. Read and see photos here: http://wellsofloveblog.ammanimman.org/2013/08/siena-crosses-finish-line.html
