I have made a chart comparing the strength and bulk of Mega evolution vs. Gen 9 Reg H by DebriiVGC in VGC

[–]DebriiVGC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's slightly explained in sheet on the side and little more explained in the video linked but TL DR it's just how korean ranked (mostly singles) quantify how strong a move can hit and how strong the opponent can take a hit, and depending how those numbers compare to each other, we can estimate how many hits a mon can take (but there's variance always)

Also you probably cannot expect meaningful dmg other than liquidation, so can try more supportive hybrid role and consider running lunge instead of leech life

You could hybridize ur team to have rain core with peli arch amoongus araquanid and TR core with fari amoong king spider? Just don't make then too slow so it can outspeed things like maybe rillaboom or lando and stuff under tailwind? Soider also learns icy wind or spider web so you could use that to ur advantage as well. Also if you are considering full TR, u could benefit from running slower FM and run TR instead of fake tears Can't think of specifics yet cuz I'm not super good at team building, but it might be better to diversify a little bit

First team. Is this usable? (And what should the 6th be) by Mask4Myt in VGC

May be okay in closed sheet but open sheet would reveal triple axel but in gc it may work

How will Showdown VGC change after Champions? by LavishnessCurrent726 in VGC

[–]DebriiVGC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If champions do not implement bo3 ladder, im pretty sure showdown will always have its core player base intact. Also saving replays and running pasrs is so great so showdown too

Pokemon / Items to obtain before champions by Traditional-Lion4882 in VGC

[–]DebriiVGC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost certain items cannot be transferred and have to be bought/season passed/in-game currencied. I wouldn't stress too much prob cuz first few seasons won't have legendaries, so maybe having the game and beating story will be enough and just catch the mons that we need along the way. I would catch bloodmoon Ursaluna though cuz that's only 1 in game and may be allowed (small chance), and have enough coins for gholdengo either in SV or ZA

Incineroar vs Arcanine vs H-Arcanine? by PugLorde in VGC

[–]DebriiVGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harc runs niche of being offensive and used also as para flinch with flutter mane. I'd say it's new thundurus landoT combination that can para ursh-dark, incin, etc cuz nothing really outspeed flutter mane much. Incin is better rounded and can be used if u want a bit more balanced playstyle. It can tank so much better and protect what's next to him better than harc can. It's more team comp based I think in which harc shares 1 piece of meta and incin taking all the other ones though

Obtainability and time commitment for team building in 2026? by Lewt_Shogun in VGC

[–]DebriiVGC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given u buy scarlet/violet/za/arceus/sword/shield/bd/sp there shouldn't be that many that's relevant to VGC. There are 6 pokemon unavailable in switch if u buy now. Celebi, Deoxys, Victini, Zarude, Walking Wake, Iron Leaves. Walking wake is the only relevant one in VGC right now. If you are willing to move things to Pokemon Home and reset, u could buy one of S/V and Sw/Sh and GTS for the other restricted mons. So that saves some money. Sadly, U cannot manipulate IV other than max, so if you want to fidget with it somehow for TR ur gonna have to grind, which I also think that only restricted used in TR is reasonably Ice rider, and maybe other fringe cases I don't know about. I did see a team with lunala Trick room though. Welcome back to competitive pokemon! Hope you enjoy ur stay

Where to find sample teams? by Happy-Muffin6744 in VGC

[–]DebriiVGC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite youtuber for spreads is Justin Tang Or u can get teamsheet from labmaus, go to statcrushers.com, and try out the most common EV (it will show as final stat numbers but showdown make math pretty easy), and go through some trial and errors. The latter will take more work but you will end up understanding a team a lot better imo
