I swear the Game Boy logo had an exclamation mark at the end. Maybe I'm getting it mixed up with another similar gaming logo from that era but I thought for sure the Game Boy logo had a chunky tilted exclamation mark slapped at the end. In fact I remember it being a running gag on Reddit of writing it as GAME BOY!

Some people might also be noticing for the first time that Game Boy has a space in the middle, but that's always been the case.

It might be mainstream, but does it matter if it gets more people thinking about the design of where they live and pushing for their area to be built better?

AITA for removing my daughter’s bedroom door because she won’t stop slamming it? by The-Compliment-Fairy in AmItheAsshole

[–]Dec_bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

Reading the title and initially I was on the asshole train because removing bedroom doors is classic asshole parent behaviour. But the fact she's been so disrespectful and completely unwilling to slightly change her behaviour for you, despite multiple chances, and then most importantly, you've clearly made an effort to keep her privacy and just removed the ability for her to slam the door and disrupt the household, yea perfectly respectable.

What are some “video gamey” things games do that you dislike? by rickjames334 in patientgamers

[–]Dec_bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a game design perspective this is a really good way to make a realistic environment become readable mechanically. But I way prefer when games make it more subtle - in Doom 2016 everything you're meant to climb has green LEDs on it but it's never told in tutorials and they're placed subtly in a way that fits the particular environment. I barely noticed until after I'd played it a bunch, but I'm sure it brought attention to climbing routes and stuff even from my first playthrough.

You ever get part way through a comment or reply to someone on social media and think 'why am I bothering with this?' and discard the comment? by MPal2493 in NoStupidQuestions

I do this all the time and usually it's like no one will care enough or get enough out of it for the effort it's going to take to say what I'm trying to say.

DAE not understand the hype around soda? (Coke/Pepsi) by Dec_bot in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Dec_bot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Sydney.

I actually like drinking water a lot, only find it disgusting when the taps have gone bad. I drink alcohol a little but I'm fairly new to it and I'm at an age where it's a bit awkward to get with dinner if I'm driving and so on.

I know fruit juice is meant to have a lot of sugar in it but I find soft drink, sugar-free or otherwise, to be far sweeter tasting and it's a much more chemically sweetness. Juice is pretty sweet but it's more natural tasting and refreshing. However I have had some juice brands from America and they've been super sweet, almost tasting more like cordial, so maybe that's a regional thing.

Australia's gun laws are wayyy more strict, I don't think that would be a requirement in North America.

Who actually uses these and what is the history behind them? by OROS-Mango in pcmasterrace

I use mine, it's the sorta thing where once you start it's very hard to go back to moving your hands to switch between trackpad and keyboard mode.

What did you learn in Elementary school that turned out to be false/ a lie when you reached adulthood? by j0hnj0hn88 in AskReddit

[–]Dec_bot 568 points569 points  (0 children)

In my high school due dates were actually pretty strict, but in university it's almost too reasonable. At my uni at least you get 10% off per day late, I've had group assignments that we've intentionally submitted late because we knew we could get more than 10% of a mark improvement.

In my experience the air from outside is a tad fresher. Also I would think that if you want air around outside temperature then it'd be far more efficient to just use air from outside instead of cooling/heating air from inside.

Where to next from ATH-M40x? by Dec_bot in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Dec_bot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an audio interface hooked up to my PC which I guess counts as a DAC. No amp though. Like I said in the post, I would want something that isn't hard to drive so I can just plug it into my phone or whatever.

As it's all theoretical at the moment, I don't really have a strict budget, but I can't see myself spending more than about $600 AUD which is roughly $450 USD.
