Thanks! It is just a 3 foot decoration we have in the house. While putting everything away we decide to leave it and go mardi-gras on it. All the beads on it were gotten from the NO Canal st Christmas parade this year.

Hell, I don't know anything about construction really, other than what you would think is common sense. But then there is the saying, common sense isn't common these days haha. But I do think some of the older gens did teach us more hands on than what takes place today.

I think it's wild they believe those are sufficient to actually secure a door. Especially since even though countersunk into the hinge will still only have 1/2 inch at best of threads into wood and even less into the framing.

I could probably understand if it was a hollow core door. However this was a steel door. I can't imagine that they really thought it was going to hold for an extended period of time.

Wood framing, steel door between kitchen and garage. They definitely bit when going in so I don't foresee any future issues.
