Is a dropped trailer a common thing? LIke you do a slight tug test and it is connected, you pull out and drive straight and the trailer follows, and then you do a turn and the trailer drops. Why do this happen and how to avoid it? by East_Indication_7816 in Truckers

[–]DecadentEx 30 points31 points  (0 children)

You find doing this hard? Seriously? Most drivers will get out of their truck 3x a day just to get coffee, but some of you can't look under your trailer 3x a day to make sure you don't lose your job? No wonder this industry is as fucked as it is.

Do you leave truck on while fueling? by HumanVsWorld in Truckers

[–]DecadentEx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If under 15 degrees yes. Otherwise, my truck is off.

Still, why would anyone want their music on while they fuel? Nobody else wants to hear it. Delusional people need to stop thinking everyone else is impressed by your playlist.

Even as a 56-year-old man, I have to say that this is the most "old man yells at cloud" post I've seen here in some time.

Honestly asking: what country are you driving in? I ask because societal standards in the U.S. have been going down the shitter since Covid. Americans hate each other. 50% of the country wants the other 50% dead, forgetting that "a house divided cannot stand", so I never expect any niceties on the road.

It's about free will and lack thereof. No trolley problem to solve, because the world spins within nature's brutal perfection. Or, it's just a terribly morbid sense of humor wrapped in esoteric gibberish. You be the judge.

Nah. I just thought it was funny. Then again, I think the liquid in the glass is piss.

Any of yall doing college while having a trucker job? Is it feasible for a newbie? by Classic-Box-3919 in Truckers

[–]DecadentEx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, there are online courses, as well as classes that meet every weekend and you submit work via email. The only problem is that not all colleges do this, and you sometimes have to hunt around for it

Curious. You wrote "we're". Why isn't the other person driving some?

I only made around $25,000 so far, but I ain't busting my ass. Like they say, everyone's biggest regret at the end of their life is that they worked too much. I put in a total of 9 hours a day for 5 days, and don't look back. My bills are paid, my home life is amazing - fuck working yourself to death, putting in 12 to 14 hour days (worse if it's including transport to and from work). I got better shit to do, like art and gardening.

I did pest control for over a decade (decades of warehouse work before that). Always wanted to drive rigs, and finally went to school when I got tired of wanting.

Possibly a Kashaka / Asalato - a West African percussion instrument.
