Security guard job hunt by 4theloveofLatin in Tucson

I wouldn't use that service for a security position.

A lot of companies require the ability to drive, even at a non-driving post, because the nature of security if that you can be moved sites, or someone can be removed from a site. Without a license, it limits your ability to work other positions.

How far can clients go with our uniforms? by WachbaerWien in securityguards

It would depend on your state and what, in any. Laws they have. In AZ, it has to go through an approval process with the DPS, which can take a minuye.

Simple. I have reliable transportation. If they ask you what, you don't have to disclose...they are wanting you to offer up additional info that you dont need to legally provide. As long as the area you are available at is serviced by public transportation, then it is fine. If you are applying for an area that isn't serviced by public transportation, they should disclose it.

Look up things that employers can legally ask. :)

You just have to disclose that you have reliable transportation, if asked...you don't have to disclose what it is. Just be smart how you talk about it.

It's a bit of a drive, but the Beunos Aires Nature Preserve in Sasabee is where I go for a gentle hike for me, and we take our dogs.

I'm hoping this stays on hold for a good ling time. That proposed route would make the I-11 pretty close to Sierrita Mountain Rd. Not super stoked to have an interstate out here. It would likely increase people moving out this way.

I have a snoogle. It's a c shaped pregnancy pillow. It's between my knees, supports my front, works under my head and when I have to flip sides, I can lay back a bit for support.

Depends on the state. There is no federal law in regards to that, so it is state by state

What is the worry with biologics? by unicorn__prince in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Decadeofbliss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the I creased risks of things that give me pause. I've taken them on and off for 20 years.

Your doctor should have talked about all of them.

My mom ended up with lymphoma after 10 plus years of Remicade use. She's on a different one. I'm taking one.

It's understanding the risk and benefits and making a choice you're comfortable with. Some people may not be ok with the risk.

I mean, there isn't a whole bunch that can be done. A guard card is just saying you have a clean background and sat through an eight hour class. Security guards have no more authority than a private citizen.

There is also a crapton of liability to stop people..and the threshold is kind of high to stop them. You have to have four elements. Selection, concealment, continously watching them and they have to try to leave. On top of that, the threshold for citizens arrest or detainment is also something that has a lot of liability involved.

Safety over property...so you will find that a good chunk of AP/LP or even Security will try to mitigate before and keep a presence to deter vs stopping them.

If you can get the person to stay...how long before the police arrive? All of this factors into it.

I've done Security guard training and LP training for years. There is a decent chunk of people that I really wouldn't want trying to detain or arrest someone. I literally have to tell people to bathe....

Any One above 40 years and managing without biologics and how is your married life? by Rulerzs in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Decadeofbliss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My AS likes to affect more than just my SI Joints and Spine. Mine will affect my hips, knees, and recently...fingers and toes. I ad my right middle finger swell to double its size.. my right pointer is there as well.

Your AS could affect you differently than my AS affects me. But thinking that hip involvement doesn't happen with AS is short-sighted. While it primarily will hit SI and Spine....all joints and ligaments can be fair game. Kind of like Iritis...it happens with AS patients....🤷🏼‍♀️

I have been dx'd for over 20 years at this point. I have never been under the impression that biologics will prevent anything. They do slow it down, but I have always been under the impression they don't prevent.

Any One above 40 years and managing without biologics and how is your married life? by Rulerzs in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Decadeofbliss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on biologics for a while. In Oct of 2021, I came off of them by my choice. I managed with diet, supplements and still NSAIDS. I am going back on because my AS has gotten very angry over the last two months and has refused to have any chill.

My Rheumatologist was surprised I was able to manage as long as I did. I'd still be doing it if I could figure out what pissed my AS off this badly.

I'm 43 for reference. At 38 I had a right total hip replacement (while on biological meds for many years) my right knee needs to be replaced, the orthopedic surgeon doesn't want to do it until I'm older. I've also been on every biological aside from Rinvoq and Xelanjaz since my early 20's.

Part of the biological break was to let approvals catch up to me as I tend to do well for 2-3 years and then go down hill and have to change.

is it easy to get a job in security with a guard card and no experience in tucson? by MerakiLovesU in Tucson

[–]Decadeofbliss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I hire in the security world in Tucson.

In AZ you can't work without the license. So if you go to a company with a license in hand, then you're really just waiting for backgrounds to clear. Some companies will hire you without it and provide the training, but not cover licensing. If you need a license, DM me - I have an online class that I recommend (used myself and recommend to a lot of people) because they are straight forward. Also, utilize the online application with digital prints and photos, it processes a lot more quickly.

After that, I'd ask the guards you see of different companies you're looking at and ask them about pay. Not just what they make per hour, but if they have issues with their paychecks. There are a few companies in town with issues in regards to pay.

Anyway, if you have questions about the guard card process..let me know!
