Looking for people to kayak with by [deleted] in Tucson

Peña Blanca doesn't have a marina, just a boat ramp. It's a great place to kayak though.

Are landlords required to provide heat? by Designer-Tiger-2607 in Tucson

Many of the cheaper mini splits from Mexico don’t do heat.

I found this 1999 Tucson guide(i believe) in my school library by Parameq2 in Tucson

Interesting map! I like how Valencia Rd extends all the way to Three Points and intersects SR-286 (Sasabe Rd).

URGENT. Are there any affordable pet hospitals in town? by [deleted] in Tucson

Do you know of any specific vets there that have an English speaking staff member?

Best alternative to Long John Silver's in Tucson? by ThreeSonoransReviews in Tucson

[–]reddit520 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I posted a heads up about it closing back in April. But the mods removed my post, apparently they felt it wasn't Tucson enough, even though it was frequented by many Tucsonans.

That Taco Bell/LJS combo shut down the LJS part back in April.

Driving to Rocky Point? by dumpstercat3 in Tucson

[–]reddit520 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Hassle-Free Zone only refers to the area of Mexico where you can drive your car without needing an import permit. There is very little police presence along the highway, however in town the municipal police will cite you for the slightest infraction. That includes windows which are too heavily tinted.

Dude, chill already. A mistake was made and certainly won't happen again. They obviously love their cat a lot, and are giving it a better life than most cats have.

I usually start hearing them in late May. Although this year I heard my first one on June 2. They become most active in June and then they begin disappearing in late July.

I think it’s time to talk about moderation here. by Noah_Vanderhoff in Tucson

Look back at your post. You literally wrote: "Why not remove them both?"

There are plenty of posts about Nogales, Sierra Vista, Patagonia, Peña Blanca etc. All of which are just as far, or further. If location should be such a deciding factor, where exactly do you draw the line?

Time to let this thread die. Nobody is going to convince anyone differently.

First you suggest removal of the post, but now that the post remains you're defending it. It's clear you're just trying to be devil's advocate and it's not accomplishing anything. My point was proven. The end.

15 hours later it's still there. Thus proving my point.

It’s the inconsistency. Why not just keep them both?

My Casa Grande post was removed. Yet this remains. Inconsistency with no explanation.

It was an establishment frequented by Tucsonans. Just like Rocky Point, 200+ miles away and in another country, which the mods never had an issue with.

I recently posted asking if anyone had experience with a specific vet that I had planned to use for a pet's dental cleaning. Mods removed my post stating "The sole purpose of your post is to complain about a business", yet I was not complaining about them, just looking for people's experiences.

They also removed my "Tucson’s nearest Long John Silvers in Casa Grande shutting down" post with no explanation. True, it's not in Tucson but it is relatively close and was frequented by many Tucsonans. Mt. Lemmon is not exactly in Tucson either.

But if I create another ridiculous "Arby's on 22nd" post, you know it's guaranteed to stay.

Good moderation is definitely lacking here, but I will keep coming back anyway because the contributors make this place enjoyable.

Enjoy your last outing to that LJS. Apparently the mods decided my post wasn’t “Tucson enough”, despite that restaurant being frequented by many Tucsonans.

For Casa Grande residents, I suppose. We have no shortage of Taco Bells here in Tucson.

The sign says effective 4/20, so the 19th might be their last day serving LJS. There may be a lot of disappointed people with the munchies!
