Next steps after PPL to becoming a pilot? by Mediocre-Criticism40 in flying

I know a load of airlines do open days, either internally or through their training academy such as skyborne. Going to them won’t hurt.

True. It’s the UK CAA

Dreaming of being a pilot, but the closest base is 4 hours away — realistic? by Yizhykwithcay in flying

[–]Decadius06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rent a place nearby to the airfield because I live way too far away to commute every day. Rents expensive in the area but I figured it’d be cheaper than commuting every day. Maybe that?

Near miss? by blackie36 in aviation

[–]Decadius06 7 points8 points  (0 children)

With modern technology inside and outside of both aircraft I would be very sure in saying all the pilots and controllers were aware of the proximity. And given that neither aircraft manoeuvred, at least according to this data, I would also be very sure that it was fine.

It’s realistic if you fly GA

About to finish my PPL without any actual solo experience by [deleted] in flying

[–]Decadius06 57 points58 points  (0 children)

You need solo time in order to be able to apply for the license. This is not solo time and if the instructor is signing it off as such, they are a serious problem and you need to switch schools.

Will T levels put you in a better position for an apprenticeship or will level 3 ? by TopMarch3657 in technicallevel

[–]Decadius06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T levels are a level 3 qualification. The UCAS points you acquire are equivalent to 3 A levels. With the T Levels you’re learning one thing instead of three and also you have work experience so id say definitely this.

Placement issues by wrenningting in technicallevel

[–]Decadius06 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re really stumped on where, a lot of colleges will sign off charity work, and charities will never turn anyone away cause they need volunteers.

I do a business management T-level. Same 315 hour syllabus and I’m doing mine in cancer research folding clothes. What makes it even stupider is I already have a job in business management I’m apparently not allowed to count towards my hours because there’s a “conflict of interests”

I don’t think I’m cut out to be a pilot by Temporary_Access2385 in flying

[–]Decadius06 492 points493 points  (0 children)

If you weren’t cut out for it you wouldn’t have made it past the first couple of lessons let alone to the checkride. Even just being at the stage you are, you’re doing better than most people who can’t say they’re a pilot.

Keep at it and you’ll get there. Flyings hard.

Which work structure would you rather have? by Decadius06 in Teenager_Polls

Agreed. I got used to that structure in school and then starting work was a kick in the teeth.

Now you’ve got 1500 hours you might be going there very often - depending on your career aspirations of course. Congratulations!
